Same problem, resent the message but still no luck.
@fxit - I think you should update your first page post, adding the benefits of jailbreaking? Lots of people have no clue where to start, and why they would want to? Just an idea.
ummm, apparently theyr not selling iphones on a prepaid basis? is this true??

Try a DFU restore, then use quickpwn to activate it after.Hi to all "iphoners"
I need asistance with the following:
I have the iphone 3g 8 gb. (U.S. version which I am using with turbo sim on M.T.N. network)
I used itunes to sync stuff on to my phone but recently when I connected my phone to my computer, it said: 'something wrong with your phone, contact nearest apple store"
now the nearest apple store is approximately 8ooo miles away!
Now when I connect the phone it doesn't even show it in the itunes!
Therefore I can no longer sync it or even back up my phone.
Please advise how to solve this problem.
Thanx.
From what I understand, Vodashops are not yet offering the iPhone 3G on pre-paid but places like Dion Wired will have it on pre-paid.ok, i know they had it for a while, but i read on some random site about some dude saying that theyr only offering the contracts now?

My boss is interested in getting one, had a guy from vodacom here last week (boss called me into the discussion), firstly, the guy was TOTALLY against the iphone, and also said they are not allowed to sell the iPhone cash. They have to convince people to take it on contract, as the profit margin is too low on a cash sale. Also on contracts, Voda pays apple R149pm per iPhone
"a guy from vodacom"? by that you mean one of their sales consultants??
well, from personal experience (and i really don't mean to generalize, but unfortunately i have to)... most of them know pretty much about the same amount about the iphone as your average brick does...
if u want the phone cash, metro @ vodaworld, but i suggest rather going to dion wired, they activate it in store for you with one of their vodacom sim cards if you're not on vodacom

Yip, was a corporate sales consultant (handling all our company's contracts), but I agree on their knowledge. iBRICKS!Its just weird that they try to turn people away from the iPhone, its like vodacom doesnt want to sell them, taking that into consideration and the fact that there's no real marketing campaign for it (compared to other places in the world, especially during launch periods). Voda could have made a fortune if the managed it properly from the start
