Guys when using Alok to convert avi to Iphone / ipod, the voices are out of sync with the movie. Why would this be?

I am using ipodmpeg 4
Video codec mpeg 4
640x 480
29.97 fps
auto aspect ratio
160kbs audio
2 channel stereo

Why not try mediacoder instead? you should be able to adjust the sync with it but can't remember exactly since I use a mac to convert these days.

PwnageTool update coming soon...
So, as anticipated our friends the misfits have recently released the long awaited 2.2 update. We can confirm that this update SHOULD NOT be applied using iTunes if you want the chance of a soft-unlock in the near future.

If you want to keep that option of a ‘soft-unlock in the near future’ available but you want the new features of 2.2, you will be able to update to 2.2 using a PwnageTool created custom ipsw file that disables the baseband update. You will be able to do this using an updated version of PwnageTool that will be released sometime soon.

Some facts -

The 2.2 firmware for 3G contains a baseband update for the 3G iPhone
The 2.2 firmware for 2G (1st gen iPhones) doesn’t contain a baseband update and the baseband is still at 04.05.04
We believe that our Pwnage technique (and therefore the Jailbreak) isn’t affected, but PwnageTool and QuickPwn do not support this release as yet, so DO NOT install 2.2 using iTunes as you will lose your jailbreak
If you apply this update and you previously relied on PwnageTool or QuickPwn to activate your phone, it may become temporarily deactivated and unusable (until we release the new version of PwnageTool or QuickPwn).
PwnageTool and QuickPwn updates will be released as soon as possible that will allow a safe update path to 2.2 the release of these updates is inevitable but not imminent, we are creating the modifications right now and we need to put the new software through the usual testing process.
If you apply this update and you have third-party (non AppStore) applications that you rely on they will stop working.
2G (1st gen) iPhone users who cannot wait for the new PwnageTool or QuickPwn can safely “Update” to 2.2 using iTunes, this will preserve the existing activation. However “restoring” to 2.2 using iTunes will return the iPhone to the unactivated state. If you are in any doubt just wait. NB: This works for 2G ONLY.
The use of SIM-Proxies (small circuit boards/chips that sit underneath the SIM card) to provide GSM/UMTS service on your locked iPhone 3G is a method that we have always advised against. Early reports suggest that the 2.2 update disables the functionality of these devices. The techniques used were always unreliable and we are surprised that they have lasted this long.
We are not working on the 2nd generation iPod touch at the moment, so we cannot comment on what the the 2.2 software update may do to this specific model
So, as always, if you are in any doubt whatsoever please delay the install of this firmware on any of your devices until we have investigated the release in more detail. Watch this space ;-)

NB: A quick message to a certain O2 UK employee with a stick inserted firmly up his arse, we are not going anywhere!

Hey guys.. Just wanted to share with you:

The easiest way to SSH into your iPhone over USB
fxit_man said:
1) Download iPhone Tunnel Suite

2) Once you have installed the application, run it and click on iPhoneTunnel.

3) If any message shows, type "y" for yes and press enter.

4) If it asks for the password, type in "alpine" (it will not show that you are typing anything)

5) Now proceed to the install directory (Program Files/iPhone Tunnell Suite) and locate the "WinSCP" folder.

6) Run WinSCP.exe and change the "Language" to English by clicking the Language button at the bottom left of the window

7) Close WinSCP

8) Go back to the iPhone Tunnel Suite Program and click "WinSCP"

9) Select the iPhone (it should already be selected) and click Login.

10) If presented with any warning message, click "Yes"

11) Enjoy SSH over USB with permissions!

This is the easiest way i have found to SSH over USB! (with permissions)

Hope you guys found it as easy as i did ;)

Don't know if anyone has experienced this yet:

My iPhone 3G was sitting on about 30% charge, when it suddenly shutdown.
It was dead, not even red battery screen. I plugged it on charge, waited 15 min and tried the power...
nothing...I started to freak out a bit. Went online, did some reading. And low and behold, a simple but
slightyl bizarre (?) solution was found. Put the phone on charge, and hold the power down and the home
key (same as a reboot) and after 20 or so seconds the phone switched on.

Anyone had this ? Know why this work ?

Cheers.

Pwnage tool for jailbrake V2.2 iPhone firmware released by dev-team - DO NOT USE IF YOU WANT A SOFTWARE UNLOCK IN FUTURE...
So should be fine for unlocked Vodacom iPhones....
Will do it tonight - must go to a family lunch today... :(

Just one question - do you run quickpwn directly and update to the hacked FW2.2 or must you first upgrade to the stock 2.2 via iTunes

What do you mean about soft unlock?

Means you can unlock a locked iPhone(AT&T for eg.) using pwnage(software) not a hardware solution that can break your iPhone or be blocked by Apple like 2.2 has already done for some simcard proxies.

not yet.. will probably do it this week though :)

Just done mine - flawless upgrade and Jailbreak with QuickPwn. Damn - wish someone told me to backup my Cydia apps with the Cydia backup tool - they all gone - I have most of them luckily and don't have to download them again. Need to get Swirly and iRealSMS back asap.

Swirly MMS not working on FW 2.2 for iPhone - SwirlyMats is working on a upgrade - should be out later today or tomorrow.

That's the only downside of Jailbreaking, updates break the Apps :(

BTW even the Woz Jailbreak's his iPhone, he was on click ;)
