I got my iphone yesterday, and I'm loving it!

I have one question though: I want to save a number from my call list to a contact, but I can't figure out how. Is this possible?

Thanks for the help!

Yep, just press the blue arrow next to the number and press "Create new contact" (second last option) Or "Add to existing contact" ;)

How to get the voicemail button to call voice mail ...

Step 1: Find your carrier’s voicemail number is (for example, vodacom voicemail number is 121)

Step 2: Click the phone button in your iPhone. (Green one, bottom left)

Step 3: Click the keypad tab.

Step 4: Type the following: *5005*86*yourvoicemailphonenumber#

Step 5: Hit the call button and wait a few seconds.

Step 6: Hit the voicemail button, and it will now call your voicemail.

I've tried setting up my voicemail as described above, but to no avail. I've tried **5005*86*121# as well, but it does not work. Am I doing something wrong?

I've got an iPhone 3G....

It should be set up already? When you hit the Voicemail button, does it not do anything?

My voicemail is set-up...but it still doesn't work...

I'll give customer care a call...maybe they can assist

Cool :D I always restore anyways. Makes me feel like the first day I got the phone again every time! :p

hehe! I was in the honeymoon phase all over again when I reinstalled my notebook a few months back, so I know what you mean :D

Hey FIXIT - congrats on the Cydia listing with your myadsl icon...

:D hahaha thanks man it was a little test thing i was doing :)

It's on the Sleepers repo btw (search Sleepers in Cydia) . Submitted a new version now. learnt how to make my own .deb file since then and it's pending their approval again (should be done by tomorrow)

:) Then i was planning on posting it here

If anyone want's to try it out and knows how to install .deb files, feel free to give it a shot :)

(just run dpkg -i <filename>.deb on the iPhone to install)

This was mainly a test thing though to see if i can make .deb file or not. Will start making some themes and stuff like that now though when i get some time and share it with you guys!

(just a side note - to uninstall, uninstall via Cydia. Manage, Packages..)

Cool!

Will give it a shot now..

For those of you who don't know how to install .deb files:

Upload the .deb (Debian software package) file to your device's /tmp/ folder. Create the folder if it doesn't exists.
SSH into your device as the root user by issuing the following Terminal command:
ssh [email protected]
(You must replace 192.168.123.88 with your device's actual IP address.)
Next, quit Cydia if it is running, and issue the following Terminal command to start installation:
dpkg -i /tmp/name.deb
(Replace name.deb with the actual filename of your .deb file)
You may delete the .deb file after completing installation.
