Who gives a R8 000 Christmas present like that?

Sell the phone to someone for R4 000, you make a quick $ and someone more capable gets a amazing phone, it's a win win situation.
 
Does anyone know where I can buy a car charger for my iphone? But it should not only be a car charger, it should also have a connector for the aux socket in my honda jazz. I've checked on igear, but they only have chargers with fm transmitters, I need one that can plug into the aux socket

lol, then it's a 2G phone right? (not 3G)... seriously though, it's an amazing phone, get the latest firmware, do the jailbreak, you'll never look back, and if you seriously do feel that negative about the phone, then perhaps it is best to sell it/give it away, seeing as that mindset obviously won't change...

just check that it is a 2G iphone (silver rear cover), and not a 3G (black rear cover), with the 3G you can't upgrade to the latest firmware if you want to use it in SA, if you got it in 2007 and it's a 3G it's definitely not a vodacom phone

for firmware upgrade/jailbreak etc, try using the search function in this forum, or go see the tutorials on www.iclarified.com for the iphone, they're a big help

get the regular charger and a cable that goes from your headphone plug to the honda's aux in??
 
I finally got my Aliph Jawbone Headset!!

For those of you who don't know about this bluetooth headset, read more on it and it's amazing 'Noise Assassin' functionality here!

It syncs amazingly with the iPhone! From the time I turn the headset on, it connects to the iPhone in under 2 seconds...

I can have a window open (wind) and music playing and the other person can still here me clearly!

Lasts 4 hours and 8 days standby!

Bought mine from shopandship.co.za (Speak to Ryan Shein, as it is not listed on the website if you are interested)

Dont want to use the headphone socket, taped it up. With the ipod, I got a freakin nice car charger that also connects to the aux socket, even though its not digital the sound was amazing

Did I mention that I love my iPhone?

LOL - seriously, I've been trying desperately to justify the problems I'm having against my husband's argument that I should just use my upgrade and get a good old standard phone. I'm just tired of forever having to tweak something to get the phone to do something like voice activation, multiple SMS, MMS, etc. I've sorted all that out now. It's when you guys start talking Cydia and SSH that I get lost.

It's a 2G, first edition phones that came out - I'm doing the Ziphone thing now, if I run into problems, I'll post and hopefully someone will help me.

Kalvaer, if you're reading this, pass a tarantula on to Bravestar so he can play with something LOLOL.

Will I be able to upgrade from 1.1.1 to 2.2.1 successfully with QuickPwn? I'm still downloading the 167MB 1.1.2 file - there's still time to save the damsel in distress...

It will be easier to backup your data in iTunes, download the 2.2.1 firmware file, restore your phone to 2.2.1 (or upgrade if you must) and follow the tutorial here. Restore is usually recommended though.

You should be able to go from 1.1.1 to 2.2.1. Just make sure you do a restore to the new firmware rather than an upgrade. Anyway there are good tutorials on this on iclarified and bigboss and stay away from ziphone!

He can upgrade if he wishes, but it will take up unnecessary space on the phone used for upgrade.
 
thought i'd quickly list my fav apps in the app store with a short discription (all are free..):

allrecipes.com dinner spinner - basically a recipe book in which you select what type pf meal (like desert, main course, breakfast etc), what you want in it (red meat, pasta, chicken etc) and how long it takes (under 20 min, under 45 min, over an hour etc). it then gives you recipes with reviews and ratings. pretty damn cool.

donedrinking - game. use the accelerometer to keep the drunk guy upright as he walks. damn fun.

drinking games free - a list of drinking games and their rules.

google earth - you already know what google earth is... except now you can use the accelerometer to view different angles and stuff. absolutely love it!

remote - control your itunes over a wifi connection. yes, i'm lazy.

party pro lite - drink recipes =)

vlc remote free - control vlc. free edition is pretty basic but you dont need more, i dont think.

weatherbug - more detailed than standard weather app. includes wind, heat index, dew point. you can also watch live videos if your location supports it and see satellite images.

shazam - every music lover needs this app. identify tracks and more...

guitarist's reference - chords, scales, arpeggios... all in the palm of your hand.

Yeah, JQ44, stay far away from ZiPhone AND 1.1.2 - it's like very old!

Listen to fxit_man - I can't really help you cos i'm on MAC (Don't know what to use these days on PC).

But it's REALLY simple if you follow instructions on page 1 and the iclarified.com tutorials.

fxit - Isn't she going to need to download Bootneuter from Cydia after her jailbreak to flash her baseband in order to activate her phone? Not sure about this in Windows, so this one is yours m8...

QuickPwn should take care of that with the Unlock option afaik. She/He might need to tick the unlock tickbox when using it though if it gives her problems. Can always run it again and tick the unlock option if she/he has no signal.
