Please email me the .deb file that contains the Vodacom Carrier Logo

shot!

Haha so you liked it? :D

Here it is for anyone that want's it

Fxit's Custom Vodacom Carrier Logo

Original Vodacom Carrier Logo (for reverting back to the original)

You can simply uninstall, but then it revert's to larger scrolling text like we had before there was a custom carrier bundle for SA.

Here's what it looks like in case anyone missed it:

Thats weird cos it works for me....

What browser you using? Try enter that link directly into your download manager?

Ugh! I have been having hassles like this lately, I suspect a DNS issue but cant seem to nail it down...

Using FF - no download manager, can you recommend one for Mac?

Yes use Speed Download.

And rather use Safari that FF. Much better browser.

Don't download that firmware, it's old.

Download 2.2 or 2.2.1 - they are the latest. I would recommend 2.2 if you on the 3G.

Would much prefer the newer firmware but frankly I'm ok with just getting the phone up and running at this stage ;)

Tried safari:
Safari can’t open the page “http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...80818.t5Fv3/iPhone1,2_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw” because it can’t find the server “appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net”.

Fxit, can you remember right in the beginning of this topic (Jan 08) someone posted a tip on how to remove the default icons from the springboard. I've just traveled through a time tunnel, reading up to the first 10 pages, but I couldn't find how to customize the springboard.

I love the look of your Vodacom screenshot, but it's way above me to install that .deb file - maybe another day. I've been too busy making ringtones, every important contact now has a ringtone and a photograph and are voice enabled; I'm very chuffed with my phone :) Anybody wants ringtones, I will share.

Thanks muchly

Do you mean themes? If so, you won't be able to do much without jailbreaking. If you already have, just go to cydia and install Winterboard and proceed to install themes from cydia.

I want to get rid of some of the icons that I will never use, like weather, stocks, etc - I had them gone before I did the upgrade yesterday, they're all back now and I cannot remember how we took them off.

BTW, do you have to pay for Swirly? It asked me to buy and register... wasn't like that before either.

****************
N/M the icons - I've created folders and put them in there, but still want to know about Swirly.

You can do that with SBSettings. Download it from Cydia. Swipe your finger on status bar (where time is) to enable the application. Then select 'More' and go into 'Hide Icons'

Yes, Swirly needs $8 to activate its license. You need to go to www.paypal.com and register your CC with them. Yes, it is very safe. Then you can process your payment.

What limnos said, SBSettings can do that for you! Search for it in Cydia.

You can also get some nice themes for it from Cydia too!

Swirly isn't free anymore unfortunately.

Check PM

anyone else having a lesser call experience on 2.2.1 than they had on 2.2? 3G connectivity not so great, more call drops, more issues in connecting calls etc? can't decide if it's just my imagination
