Hey guys you do know that there is a Beta release on the net for version 3?

Yeah but don't update if you don't have a legally unlocked iPhone.

If you do have a legally unlocked iPhone, i'm sure you can run the beta, but you won't be able to activate it apparently. roland mentions that you can get in the iPhone dev program for $10 which would allow you to activate if you're that desperate. (link was a few posts back)

Do they not mean locally on your mac?

Uhm, they might

but i don't have a mac, have a windows pc

was thinking of trying to emulate mac os x on my tablet, but apparently not the easiest thing to get done, so any assistance there would be appreciated as well...

Does anyone know if 'Push' sync chows battery - I am finding that my 3G is dead after a day despite the fact that I have wifi and location services off and only switch 3G on when I need it...
Beginning to find the plasticky 3G sucks compared to the 2G which although it had slow intertubes would last for 3-4 days of continuous usage and was built like a pocket sized tank!

!!!! iPhone 3.0 Do Not Use Warning !!!!

Just a friendly warning for those of you out there they are itching to get a BETA of this...

theron I would downgrade - you never know when the beta will expire!

Read along..

Ok. It seem if you can get a sample ipcc file you can edit that and then shift update and select if from iTunes off your local machine.

What you can probaly do is download the example here

Inside the zip file is an ipcc file, it is actually also a zip file which you can extract to find all the carrier info files. Edit those repack and see if the shift update thing works for you.

Well if the guy who sold him dev access does not screw him over he should still be able to get the new updates? I still think we should see if we can get our own dev account going so we all have access to the downloads without having to rely on BT. I have had a chat to ginggs and he is in. From the info I found on the net you can have up to 100 devices associated with one account.

Well let's create a group and see who is in....

I don't mind, R100 between 10 of us is nothing for what they have to offer....

Must I create the group so long?

Hey Gents

Is it still possible to sign up for the US account on iTunes?

yes.. go into itunes....
FIRSTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY change your store from SA to USA..
then start to create a new account and the option of NONE will appear as payment.

If you are still in the ZA store when you try create an account you will have to put in credit card details

OS ver 2.x or 3.x I suspect 3.x is different. One of the sites I saw had curl command that would let you download them all.

they're the same for both OS's, tried that site, it doesn't have vodacom south africa....

if anyone has a mac, you can just copy and send me the one you have from the mac

~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Carrier Support

would be a great help guys

email the file to my username here at gmail dot com
