Off the topic I Know but was browzing new free apps and came across Engineering News app and downloaded it - hadn't heard about it before- I think its good - worth a look. (I'm not involved with it by the way)

you say that as if it's a step up? Lol

hehe, I wouldn't really know, for some reason getting rid of SQL Server 2K in the corporate environment is like trying to convince most people that 'Porsche' is pronounced 'Por-sche' :D

Also tried this last night, but on my phone, it worked, until I used MMS, then tethering would dissapear, after a reboot, tethering would be back again, but that is as far as I want to test, currently I trust pdanet just a little bit more (JAILBREAK!!!!!!!!)

I'm hoping pdanet will be 3.0 ready...

I have a funny suspicion apple screwed up the os' data handler, things start going bonky as soon as you try switching apn's, strangely though, everything works perfectly when you switch 3G off, the most annoying thing I've found when you try enabling tethering though, is that your calls start dropping like crazy, 10-15 seconds into the call

I feel your pain... I'm in standard bank, running with the SQL upgrade of all the 2k to 2005 myself, you don't want to know how big it gets here

Well I did it. Updated my Iphone finally to OS3.0 and for the 1st time in 3 weeks I was able to send a mms and recieve one back with my Iphone :D thank you Morkans will check the other new features when I get home

That is still OK. Try taking a company from Paradox to PostgreSQL. Now that is quite something.

C'Mon Dev team..... i want to start running OS3 now (Jailbroken of course!)

Think you don't NEED the iPhone 3GS? Think again.... Look at this review: http://gizmodo.com/5293388/iphone-3gs-review

I'm a little bit blown away, I have to admit, it's like the reviewer said:
"It's exactly the same experience as switching from a two- or three-year-old computer to something brand new. Your apps all look the same, but they load and run much more smoothly. Even if you're doing the same things on both machines, the new machine is that much better to work on."

3GS is definitely a faster device just look at the specs but do add a pinch of salt to that review -Americans can tend to get a liiiiitle 'excited' at times ;)

lol, just look at that pic of the memory card. The 3G phone takes much better photos than that. So now he takes a blurry pic with his 3G, but a proper one with the 3GS and all of a sudden everyone goes wow?!?!?

No dude, those pics are real. I even have the same color table at work, and when I hold my phone the same distance from an object on the table it looks exactly like the pic in the review, you're forgetting that the image was taken in macro mode, something the 3G just cannot do.

haha...goddamn Americans! :p:p
But no, that review was awesome, the conclusion etc. brings everything into perspective.

What blows me away though is this: As consumers we always get promised all kinds of things from manufacturers (2X better, 10X faster, best in the world!, biggest ever bla bla bla) but what strikes me about the iPhone in general is that somehow Apple really do live up to their claims (even if it's not always a bullseye). The new 3GS is at least 2x faster (even more so on some of the games launching videos on that review). I can respect that, even if they do charge an arm and a leg for the "new" iPhone. Just go and look at the official ads that Nokia has released for the N97, then go and look at videos where people actually use the phone, it's horribly unreal and it pisses me off when they do that. I can understand why everyone feels the need to make their products look a little better than they really are, but surely you reach a point where reality (and dignity) flies in the face of someone reaching into his pockets to pay for a device that costs almost as much as a decent workhorse notebook pc.

Oh and lastly, I also respect them for trying to stay away from publishing (or focusing) on specs. As we've all seen these past few years, technology is now at a point where specs make almost no difference as to the actual practicality of a device, there simply too many factors that come into play. For instance: I have a mean ass Dual Core with 2GB ram at work, but with a built in intel disp. card which renders it almost useless for most 3D multimedia applications. Further, if I load Windows 98 on it, it's technically useless. The same applies to mobile devices etc. They should all be reviewed within a different set of rules and as long as companies and reviewers focus on specs we as consumers will never see the reality of what is or what's to come. It even causes problems sometimes, like the fact that some companies would rather put a 12MP camera in a phone (which actually hurts the quality more that it does any good) just because most people don't understand the physics behind it and simply feels "more is better".

maybe someone can help me with this one, while we all wait patiently.

I have an iphone 3g, (2.2.1 BB 20.30.03) from the UK which is currentty network locked to the 02 network.

If i Jailbreak the phone when Quickpwn 3 comes out, the BB will be updated to 4.26.08,
And if I then run ultrasn0w, it should unlock the iphone, allowing me to use the MTM network.

My question is, if I then remove jailbreak and go back to the standard install OS3, will the phone remain network unlocked?

As I understand it yellowsn0w is an app that runs which allows the unlock so you need the jailbreak.
