can someone please help me out with this quick.

i am on 2.1 os (i know, bad) with a turbosim.
i couldn't use yellowsn0w to unlock my phone cos of my bootloader.

i have now downloaded 3.0 os and the pwnage tool for 3.0
is it fine if upgrade to 3.0 and jailbreak with the new pwnage?
i heard if youre on mac os 1.5.6 you cant put it into DFU mode?

so was wondering how i can install 3.0? and also need the new itunes to install 3.0?
waiting for ultrasn0w so i can unlock my phone, in the meantime can i use my turbosim still on 3.0?

There are a few available...but a bit scared trying any unofficial ipsw found online.
Guess I will only find it in the morning. It's bedtime now. :sick:

somehow i'm capped out on my 5gb line.
can someone please post updates on windows jailbreak?
...and maybe upload the windows jailbreak tool to a local site sometime?

Quick question, and sorry if this seems like an idiot one, but windows users should also be able to use the .ipsw file that you generate through Pwnage?

Yup, put phone in dfu mode, run iTunes, restore to custom .ipsw, restore backup(optional), re-sync, done

My only problem i think is that PwnageTool won't make a .ipsw for the 3G if i dont have an iPhone 3G. (i think)

I'm gonna reboot into mac just now and try it though and will let you guys know, then UL it is it works! (also bit wary of trying .ipsw's found online)

I upgraded to 3.0 on my 2G iPhone last night using

Using an old MTN sim card.
And using Leopard.

No problems.:)

Comon - you should be able to get /steal/beg one somewhere.
