Quick question,
any idea how we are gonna update the POI's on the Sygic GPS app?
Any exceptionally useful posts could be copied into a separate thread if so desired.Agreed, you know what would be useful though? All that info on the first pages you guys put up are really cool, but a separate thread for that would be awesome...
Where did you get get beta 3.1? and how do you install it?
Bunch a pansies!![]()
Will let you know how it goes...

If ppl are keen I'll just need a list of the post.
been thinking, let me know how it goes, i'd like to get my hands on the new baseband...
can always upgrade to 3.1, then downgrade back to 3.0 and you'll keep the baseband.. .have a funny suspicion a lot of the issues we've been seeing will disappear with the new baseband...
Maybe a little off topic, but I have a 16Gb iPod Touch that I need to upgrade to 3.0 and then Jailbreak, any pointers in the right direction? and I don't really want to pay the $9.95 for the upgrade![]()
redsn0w is an easy to use, multi-platform, multi-device jailbreaking and unlocking (iPhone 2G only) tool for the iPhone 2G (original iPhone), the iPhone 3G (but not the 3GS) and also the iPod touch (first and second generation). Currently it is available for Windows and Mac OS X (there are some issues using redsn0w with OS X PPC, please use an Intel Mac until we have this problem resolved).

Right here is my problem
I upgraded to OS3.0
I then Jailbreak my phone with redsn0w.
Cydia is loaded
sbsettings etc is all on
I have loaded the MTN ipcc (MMS & Tethering)
I love the functionality and everything but my battery life has for a walk
I get max 4 hours use out of itwhen fully charged. Now here is my dilemma. I cannot go back to 2.2.1 (no MMS
) the tethering does not bother me at all. I have not seen anything so great except MMS in OS3.0.
I know everybody talks about swirly this and swirly that. But I am not paying to have the functionality of MMS. Its enough a MMS cost me R0.90
Is anybody else having similar problems and how can it be over come?
I have switched off PUSH

I'm sitting with the same problem(I don't even have MMS set up)
I'm thinking about going back to 2.2.1. I know the newer apps will require 3.0, but the apps I had on 2.2.1 worked just fine and had all the functionality I needed. Will miss landscape emailing and copy & paste though, but so far my phone is becoming more and more unusable with 3.0, and I'd rather revert back to my old ways than having all these new problems 3.0 brings.

Yesterday I almost burst a bloody eardrum when the volume suddenly went up to 100% for no reason at all (while listening to music of course), I couldn't turn it down as it was just going up again (as if the volume control button was stuck or something, but it wasn't). I had to reboot my phone to fix it. Even cover-flow has some serious bugs now and then, where the screen would freak out when 'n page through albums. Last night my phone turned off again (battery death #3 in TWO DAYS)..I plugged it into the charger and when it came back on the battery showed 30%, then went down to 17% and then back up to 23% almost immediately...this sucks. I've also turned PUSH off and rebooted and the battery is still being sucked bone dry with a few mins. of use.
Since I've done a FULL RESTORE I see no reason to believe that I messed up the upgrade process.
