i tend to think the same. my data connectivity is up and down all the time. never a constant connection!

Not only data - signal strength in general. I'm not very happy with VCs service at the moment...

signal doesnt seem to be an issue for me. just consistancy. when will VC wake up realise. I will richard branson would come and set up a full network here, not just a sp, and show VC and MTN how its done!!!
 
Never mind Virgin Mobile! A network like Rogers in Canada would be awesome - they busy deploying their 21Mbps HSDPA network at the moment. Now that's impressive.
 
Has anyone been beta testing BigBoss' new app BossPaper? It's quite awesome - definitely worth a try.

hectic. ok someone contact rogers and tell them we have a booming market here and they must get in!! lol
 
I did the 3.0.1 update and it seems to do a little more than just fix the vulnerability. The screen doesn't light up like it used to when i take my phone out of its dock, and this also seems to be the case when I switch to silent and back.

Or maybe I just didn't pay enough attention before?

I'm also using 3.0.1 - mine still lights up when I switch to silent. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not - same as I had on 3.0 :cool:

Maybe I'm missing something - but I find it lacking. All I want is a background on my phone when on - winterboard does that (I don't constantly change backgrounds automatically every 30 seconds or so) What else does it do that warrants me installing it??

BossPaper doesn't replace Winterboard, it's basically just a add-on to it. That's all it does basically, it changes your background every couple of seconds. You can set it to a specific folder, your CameraRoll or download Packs from Cydia. The Simple and Clean Pack is quite awesome - it changes 7 different backgrounds that clean and neat. It's nothing special, just thought I would give it a try since it's from BigBoss - our favourite Cydia developer :)

Yes, I was surprised it did nothing else...:eek: seeing it was from BigBoss. Have you been able to display your homescreen in landscape mode - well all your icon screens actually without having to install some theme that just names the icons in landscape mode.? Don't think there is anything like that ...
 
Well actually Bosspaper works a lot better that winterboard (if you only use winterboard for backgrounds), its not as resource intensive as winterboard.
 
3.0.1 has already been released, its the update that "patches" the sms vulnerability

get the white, it's reeeeeeeally pretty

vodacom is intentionally going for white 3Gs, it distinguishes it from "most" of the other iphones out there, most people who have the 3G have the black model, making the white synonymous with the 3Gs... south africans are show offs, people have to see they have the newer model, vodacom knows this, and they're marketing as such

turn 3G off, try again, you'll see it works

it's a known issue, we've been unable to figure out what breaks mms, but, weather it happens within the first hour or weeks later, it always stops working
 
I spoke to a chap on 082 155 last night, retold him my issues from the weekend and the call centre response, he said the problem is I phoned 082 111 :) Although he did say, that MMS should be working again soon, so I can live without MMS for now.
