oh well, guess we'll have to check the SA app store from time to time to see if it's available there

apparently the European countries all have localized versions of the apps in their own app stores.....

you can register to be notified of app availability in your country in www.tomtom.com/iphone
 
iPhone "Locked SIM" on MTN

Hi Guys,

I just got my iPhone 3GS from Vodacom but I want to use it with my MTN sim.
I get a message saying "Locked SIM".

Is it network locked? or is there somewhere i can enter my sim pin?

OR
do i need to jailbreak and unlock?

leave the phone on, take the sim out, put the sim back in, slide to unlock, tap on "unlock" to enter your pin
 
Locked Sim

I just phone it under general settings..
switched it to off and it asked for my pin

no worries:)

it wasnt asked for it when i was switching the phone off and on
I found it under general settings -> phone -> SIM
slid the option to off and it asked me to enter in the pin..
 
So where can I download some HD wallpapers for my iphone? I've been to a lot of sites but some just look horrible on the iphone's screen (you can see it was just ported from another cell), so I am looking for some great quality wallpapers, anoyone have ideas?

Why not just resize your favorite wallpapers on your PC and then sync it using iTunes?
They should be 320x480.
 
Well there's that, and then there is a way to get the day over by browsing wallpaper gallery while I'm suppose to be working....sorry, prefer my way
 
The reviews thus far sounds like tomtom is a big fat dissapointment, and @ $99 seems like you better off buying a stand alone GPS unit. Just initial thoughts.
 
Looking for Stock?

Hi guys does anyone know where I would be able to get stock on the iPhone in Cape Town? I want to get the iPhone 3gs 32MB on contract. I have tried everywhere. Vodacom does not even know when they will get stock and Incredible Connection is all sold out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also noticed that, seems like most people prefer navigon/mobile navigator to it
 
Question for the gurus - Is there anyway that I can have an anniversary (such as a birthday) pop up automatically on my calendar?

I can put a DOB in the contacts list by adding the field but I'd like that to show up on the calendar.
 
There is an app, for the life of me I cannot remember its name, its something like ibirthday or some such that takes the birthdays from your contacts and add them to your calendar

I emailed TOMTOM as well, and their answer was a bit wishy-washy:

hmmmm - are they loading Garmin Maps on their devices sold locally then??

I use them for a lot of wallpapers - they also downscale their wallpapers to fit on an iPhone :D
