I'm sure I did, but maybe I should try again. But what I want to do is possible right?

Not sure bout that. Haven't really been following the 3GS stuff.

Would be best to ask one of the other guys who have been following. Don't want to give you advice for the sake of it..

For those interested in the TomTom South Africa app it's on xsellize.... :D

Tried it today, worked very well! Actually preferred it to Sygic...

Have you tried MobileNavigator by Navigon? I had a look at the screenshots on iTunes to compare MobilNavigator and TomTom - TomTom looks a bit boring...
I used MobileNavigator last night and the graphics are amazing :D:D

well, first off, why did you even try to install cycorder?? useless on 3gs?

to do the restore you have to add saurik's server to your host file (windows) did you do that?

Must the iPhone be in Recovery Mode when doing the restore?

Update on my battery performance on 3.1 JB on 3G

After day 2 I had 37% battery life remaining and my wifi was on permanently for those 2 days! Have biteSMS and iphonedelivery installed with some other apps to!

about navigon...
The company was founded 1991. Navigon has introduced several "firsts" to the GPS navigation market. In 2000, NAVIGON launched the industry's first navigation software for the Pocket PC. With the introduction of Traffic Message Channel-based (TMC) traffic avoidance features in 2002, NAVIGON became the first to offer such a feature on a consumer GPS product.
sounds good to me.

Every review on the Apstore mentions severely outdated maps - Ill hold off for a while still.

According to this you need to be in reovery mode http://www.quickpwn.com/2009/09/downgrade-iphone-3gs-3-1-to-iphone-3gs-3-0.html

you can always kick your phone out of recovery mode afaik by holding the power and home buttons down.

It's dfu mode which is the tricky one.

The Tutorial you posted is for OS 3.1 to OS 3.0.1

I'm not on OS 3.1, im still on 3.0.1 and wish to only restore the phone to 3.0.1. restore is probably not the correct word.

I think the reason why it's not accepted by saurik's server, is because all the 3.0 online shsh were converted to 3.1. I'm albe to get my shsh blob from his server, but only the 3.1 version, not the 3.0.1 version. But inside cydia it shows that I have 3.0 on file...

/start rant

Ok, I must be doing something wrong with the new iTunes 9.0.1, cos half the apps I bought from iTunes does not want to sync. WTF is going on with Apple's crap software??

Also, why must every patch for iTunes weigh in at 84MB?? iTunes might be the only reason why I show a middle finger to the iPhone and get something else.

I'm so sick and tired of this.

/end rant

- Guys, who has compared iRealSms vs biteSMS on Cydia Store...
it looks like they seem to do the same thing...which is is the better option and where...-

- Secondly as the iPhone 3G has no default "satellite status" app like S60 phone, how to you know that the GPS has a lock on and is not using wifi or cell tower triangulation...
How long does it take around for a cold start with A-GPS?
Is they sum App Store or Cydia app which will tell the "satellite status" ?
