ok, have a 32Gig 3Gs for sale @ R6500, not brand new, but know the owner personally, and he takes excellent care of it, it's 2 months old, paypal accepted so can be disputed

delivery next saturday - 2009/10/10 - Johannesburg area preferred

it's a UK 3Gs, so it is network locked, but already soft unlocked, so all the "caution, do not upgrade" warnings apply here

let me know if anyone's interested, photos available soon

I am having some trouble with my 3GS... I cant use Edge or 3G!! They just wont connect even if it says 3G next to my signal it still refuses to connect.

Do I need to put in some settings? I am on Vodacom on a Unlocked 3GS

I will do that.. But there is the possiblity that they (the shop) could have opened and unlocked them.

Apparently he isn't leaving the Dubai Airport on his return flight but I will see what I can do!

FIRST OF ALL, DON'T UPGRADE 3GS TO 3.1 IF YOU'RE AFRAID YOU MIGHT LOOSE UNLOCK, YOU WILL.. THIS IS AN EXPLANATION OF A CUSTOM UPGRADE METHOD NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC YET

pic one shows:
version 3.1 (3.1 firmware)
Model no and ICCID corresponding to a 3Gs (not 3G)
Modem firmware of 3.0 (not 3.1, thus, the upgrade was done with custome firmware, created by pwnage tool, not the apple out of box upgrade)

second pic shows the same (locked) phone active on O2 (therefore ultrasn0w, the unlock is working)

meaning by upgrading using pwnagetool (not itunes), you can maintain unlock and go to 3.1 on 3gs

Thanks.. I get the message.. I wasnt planing on upgrading.. only gonna once its reported with no faults!

wasn't directed specifically at you

just don't want people who search the web for 3gs 3.1 unlock or jailbreak to read it and go upgrade their phones, dumber things have happened as a result of what was said on here before

if you aren't on the vodacom APN for the iPhones, when you will not be able to use data on your iPhone. Ask the mybroadband vodacom representative (VodacomData) to add you to the APN, otherwise call vodacom data and request that your number is added...
