Cydia is included in the custom firmware.

"other" apps are simple..

hint- Appsync for 3.1 is available on the "http://repo.beyouriphone.com" repo in Cydia. Add it in Cydia.

it's a known issue with the jailbreak/unlock on 3.1

apparently if you go to the apple 3.1, then downgrade, then jailbreak, then pwn'ed 3.1, it's not an issue, but if you didn't go to apple 3.1 it is

NO, THIS DOES NOT MEAN ANYONE SHOULD GO TO APPLE 3.1, THIS IS A BAD IDEA IF YOU NEED UNLOCK, OR IF YOUR 3GS HAS NOT BEEN JAILBROKEN BEFORE
 
bad news for prospective Vodacom 3Gs buyers

the latest procured stock are the most recent released by apple, and already has OS 3.1 pre installed....

folks you'll have to wait for a 3.1 direct jailbreak i'm afraid... just picked up a new 32 gig s and had it connected with the idea of jb'ing 3.0.1 so i can pwn to 3.1.... no such luck, didn't want to try just restoring to the pwn'd firmware, don't know what damage that could do, fxit, any thoughts?

why didn't the 3.0.1 JB work?

apparently the only way to go to 3.1 JB is to JB 3.0/3.0.1 first (either using PwnageTool, RedSn0w, or PurpleRa1n), and then restore to the pwned firmware.

does that mean you no longer need a 3gs from dubai?

Doesnt install cydia properly or something like that

Read again, he said the phone came out with 3.1
 
iPhone 32GB 3GS

If anyone interested in a 32GB 3GS (Factory Unlocked) for R9500 let me know asap.

Old man is in Dubai and will tell him to pick one up. Will be arriving here on Sat then we can arrange pickup etc.

oh, yes, no more dubai 3gs needed, 3.1 is already on the device, pre installed, so can't downgrade to 3.0.1 to jb and then restore with pwn'd firmware

ah I see.. thats unlucky hey.. but a JB will be out soon enough..

think the ones from Dubai are 3.0.1 though so I may be in luck.

will give my dad a ring and ask him to check his out

your 3g and 3gs pwnd firmware with activate unchecked, do you know if they contain the baseband upgrades or not? i would prefer if the new baseband is in there

they dont have the baseband upgrade and you cant IIRC. Why would you want it though?
