Cant download your FW. RS keeps bombing out on me!!!
 
GUYS, QUICK QUESTION:

After updating to 3.1.2, did you internet tethering option disappear from the Settings->General-> Network menu?
 
OK, restored back to 3.1 pwned and got the phone activated by following the method posted in post #10:

Now to restore to 3.1.2 and attempt to activate the phone using the same method... I freaked out for nothing, lol... seems that you first need to unlock using ultrasnow, then insert vodacom sim, and only then will it activate.. wierd I know...

Ahh, that's probably the reason... Can anyone confirm that internet tethering option is removed when updating using custom firmware 3.1.2 from pwnageTool 3.1.4?

Dude... seriously, have you been following what I was trying to do? I was trying to get my push notifications to work, NOT TO UNLOCK THE PHONE... Unlocking the phone is done VIA ultrasn0w, but getting the push notifications to work requires you to do all this in a sequence.. your quide was how to unlock the phone, not activate a USA iphone so that push notifications still work...

Wierd... Internet Tethering is now in the Settings page... :) Cool, so everything working on 3.1.2!

ignore the message on the phone, look in itunes, if itunes says it's activated, it is

for some reason on 3.1.2 the message "waiting for activation" remains on the phone, just unplug the phone, should be activated, provided that you did so with your at&t sim (usa phones)

as for unlocking before activation, not possible, you can't access anything on the phone without activating first, unless the custom ipsw you built contains ultrasnow on its pre-installed packages
 
Has anyone found a mail app that works with gmail that the mails show in conversation like if u go to gmail.com? Alternatively, can the STD app do that by I just dnt know how.

hmm you could always bookmark the Gmail.com site on your home screen. it's designed for the iPhone.. google reckon they are too cool to make a gMail app for the iPhone. reckon they don't need one cos their GMail iPhone adapted site is too good :p
