Hmm yeah only chance of that happening is if someone that has purchased tomtom SA here would be willing to contibute the map files. They aren't huge, only about 30mb or so.

I don't know that many people with iPhone and the ones I do haven't bought it.

well, not the map files, just the whole ipa off the phone should do :)

Well yeah suppose that would be easier.. But there's no difference besides the maps right? So even just maps is fine :)

dunno, for one, the about section would say tomtom southern africa :)

hahaha

and it includes more than just south africa...

OK so I've been trying to keep up with this thread, I missed a bit tho.
I have a question or two.

I want to upgrade my iphone 3g (Jailbroken) from 3.0 to 3.1. All I need is the modded firmware. Is that correct?

Were can I get it?

Thanks :)

don't need to read the whole thread, just read my signature....

lol

well, i have a work active sync account, so do gmail push via gpush and it's set to fetch via imap (the standard gmail account option)

my sister has her gmail on exchange though and hasn't mentioned any issues

Well everyone I know who uses Gmail via ActiveSync has reported the same issue, but of course a few people won't be affected (such is the way of software :D)

You'll see a few posts back I posted screenshots of the issue :)

Either way, if someone does run into the issue I posted the fix :)

Hope BlackSn0w coms out soon... so I know I am safe with regard to having to resore :)

Is there a way to block calls to my iPhone that show up as blocked when the calls come through? - I'm tired of getting unwanted calls from VC's dealers esp those who don't have the decency to ID themselves

I don't JB my phone.. so is SwirlyMMS for JB?

Is there another program on iTunes store that works the same as SwilryMMS if it is only for JB phones?

Tell her you will NOT accept a low quality/low res picture of her tits! She must email you a high quality pic ;) :p You can always purchase SwirlyMMS you know......

Most companies have that cell phone system from Telkom that has cheaper rates that come up as blocked or no number..

So you might lose a few important call that way..

LOL your loss man! a jailbreak on it's own doesn't do much really..

it's all the MobileSubstrate add-ons that slow the phone down / cause incompatibility issues.. these are things such as WinterBoard (HUGE memory/resource hog). Never used WinterBoard on my 2G becuase of that (will have the same problem with the 3G), but with the 3GS there is more than enough memory so I use it :)

Apart from that, nothing else really slows down the phone.

You should just blackra1n the bugger and get it over and done with.. of course that is if yours is factory unlocked.

[*]if already jailbroken, launch cydia, install aptbackup, close cydia, run aptbackup, choose "backup" option, skip this step if not jailbroken yet

@theron.roland

Ok So I'm trying to follow your guide, but I cant seem to be able to install aptbackup. I've seached for it in Cydia but I don't have it.

I suppose I can just do it without the backup.....
