Calendar: getting Sunday on left
Something that has annoyed me for a while was the Calendar app that has the week as MTWTFSS not SMTWTFS (for all those who are confused slow - order of days of week) - for some reason if you pick SA as your region in settings. I found that if you change that to say USA or Ireland (better for phone no formatting it seems), you then get Sunday on the left, nice. Was happy.
A small side effect is that the Mobile Safari Google search then uses google.ie to search
This is easily fixed by using a PLIST editor and editing the /private/var/stash/Applications.<something_randomish>/MobileSafari.app/GoogleTLDs.plist file and changing the entry in there to be COM vs IE eg
<key>IE</key>
<string>com</string> (originally read <string>ie</string>)
(I had done this already for the ZA section as the ZA search didn't use the nicely formatted Google Mobile search)

Pleasure. Something I noticed when I filled up my car this morning adn was entering the stuff into Gas Cubby is now I have the Euro symbol ... will tinker around and see if I can find how to get the best of both worlds.

If you use mobile substrate - be mindfull when you spot the update on Cydia / Rock.... It completely fscked my blackra1ned 3GS 3.1.2 last night, and cost me a full restore, with the accompanying JB, reinstallation, etc. NOT fun!

Ok please if anyone can help i feel really doff but I can't figure this out... I just got an iTouch 32gb, but I can't get onto the app store. Itunes won't log into the Itunes store to let me create an account.. Then the app store on the device won't let me create an account either. Can someone just give me a pointer in the right direction? Sorry don't have time to trawl back through this thread to find the answer, so depending on the milk of human kindness.
Have you selected 'South Africa' as your store? If you have US selected as your country it won't work.

same thing happened here...thought it wouldn't boot up..
left it for what seemed an eternity (about 5 minutes) on the apple logo and it finally booted up..meanwhile i was busy googling the problem and someone said they also just left it on the apple logo and it booted up.. thought i would have to restore!
its fine now
I updated mine on the 8GB 3G and all seems to be ok..

How to recover/sync after hard drive crash ?
OK, so my hard drive crashed which means that the most up to date set of data is on my iPhone. Unfortunately Apple in their infinite wisdom have decided that you can only sync in one direction.
Have managed to recover some files from the hard drive but nothing that will enable me to get iTunes the same as before.
How to I sync my Contacts, Photo's, Music, Apps back to PC ?
Have a fresh install of XP Pro, but I know my iPhone will be wiped if I sync it with an empty iTunes.

there is prob a way of using SSH to do it!
But for the music, try something like iDump!

I have a backup of the ID that is in the iTunes Music Library.xml file. So should anything happen, I follow these steps and am able to access all my stuff.

I've tried the plugging headphones in and out, restoring factory settings and even doing a restore, but still no luck. Any better ideas.
I notice on my warranty sheet that in year two I'm required to purchase a replacement from Vodacare should there be problems. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of how this works?

the iphone only has a 1 year warrenty, VC do not give 2 year. So anything that breaks after year1 is for you to pay at your own expense.
do you know if the issue mentioned is repairable?
