i am a total noob to iphone , please explain how do i do this procedure "Download i-Funbox: http://www.i-funbox.com/

If you jailbroke with blackra1n and can still not access the root partition, then download something called "a2dp" from Cydia which fixes this and allows root access again."

phone has been jailbroken with blackrain , where in cydia do i download "a2dp"

On the PC:
Download iFunbox from the URL

On the phone:
Go to "Search" in Cydia (last tab) and type in "afc2add"

Then top right > install

On the PC:
Connect iPhone to PC with cable.
Open iFunBox and you now should have access to all iPhone files.

I think your problem is that it is called "afc2add". Just search for that in Cydia - it is in the ModMyi repo, which should be there by default. See: http://i-funbox.com/blog/?p=142 for more info and links etc.

Or try what fxit_man said as well.

it was afc2add , thanks found it , installed , only prob now is , i am trying to patch Navigon , how do i do this , i cannot find the navigon folder , used iphone pc suite and i-FUNBOX

that's probably it.. i did mine manually, mustv got the name wrong :confused: will edit now thanks

you have to look in the /var/mobile/applications folder and look in each folder until you find the Navigon.app

or you an get iFile from Cydia (think there's a trial version), navigate to /var/mobile/applications from iFile on the phone and it tells you the name of each folder rather than random letters/numbers (e.g. "Navigon" instead of "C01DE-49EB-894B" etc.) but then also tell you what the random letters/number folder is called. and then navigate to that on iFunbox.

A much easier (and free) way - rather get AppLinks - it then creates a link (symbolic link in unix lingo) to the folder in /private/var/mobile/AppLinks by the name of the application - just run it now and then (or after you install a new app) to refresh the list of apps you have install. Applinks is an icon/app that will appear as a normal iPhone app (I just hide it by putting it on the SBSettings Dock so I don't see it all the time)

Will my old navigon work with my new iPhone? My old one was taken from me buy a bastard with a gun. Now when I get my new one, will Navigon work ok with it? or will it only work with a single unit? That goes for all my apps I suppose.

And. Where is the best place to buy an iPhone out of contract?
Should I look at importing one? I have a friend coming in from the states in Jan... but I'm not too keen on that.

Yeah sorry to hear about that man :/ You should have the other stuff backed up in iTunes at least (contacts etc. ?)

Don't see why the old Navigon won't work? It works on 3G and 3GS iPhones. The iPhones here in SA should still be jailbreakable.

I wouldn't recommend the factory locked iPhone (states etc) ..rather go for a factory unlocked iPhone (SA, Dubai etc).

Will be a bit hard to find stock here in SA, but have a look at Vodaworlds, Dion Wired's etc. Otherwise, a few people on the forum (fanix i think) have imported factory unlocked phones from eBay and the likes.. Maybe worth looking into. Maybe ask him who he bought it from on eBay so you have the little extra reassurance. Just make sure it's factory unlocked

@fxit man , MikeCTZA , thanks , Navigon all working , is there a way of including speedcams with Navigon , TOMTOM is really dissapointing in terms of features
 
ugh no matter what i do itunes can't connect to the store....and i dont' have an account so i can't log in. i dont know exactly how to point it to the SA store...can anyone assist?

Edit nevmind it seems my openrouter settings were screwing with the itunes store.
