Sooo.. please.. tell me.. WHAT THE FOOK WAS ALL THE FUSS ABOUT OS4.0?

I've downloaded it.. installed it.. only thing changed is the app bar at the bottom (the graphics)

Other than that I lost all my Sent Emails and my battery is going flat in under a day.. thats all I've gained.
 
Ever since iOS4 I keep getting carrier setting updates and internet tethering comes and goes, wtf?

internet tethering was fixed with a restore.

Bother and blast.

I got a 3002 error when trying to upgrade my phone to iOS4. Solution, if you don't already know, is to click Shift and Restore rather than Shift and Upgrade. It takes a bit longer but basically does a clean install and then you can restore your backup on top of that.

I made sure that I had protected all of my contacts before I did this. Not that I really needed to as things worked fine. Except for the Apps - but then I had a new machine sans apps.
 
I'm so over OS4.0

What a load of crap it is..

My phone is getting slower slower each day.. it hangs and stalls.. apps take over a minute to open and then crash..

When I press setting go to turn 3G on or off.. it takes the first setting pages atleast 20 secs to open.

It seems OS4 is only great got 3GS and iP4 owners with new features and multi-tasking and wallpapers and folders etc.

For 3G owners NOTHING is different!

I have a 3G with (jailbreak) IOS4. My phone seems a lot faster than it was before. Maybe bacause it's a restore and I haven't loaded all my apps yet. Also like the multitasking and grouping of apps. Not a lot different otherwise, but don't have any issues on it like you do.

Same here, the jailbroken iOS4 GM running fine on 3G - no 'issues'.
 
I HATE OS4.0

Apple have FINALLY lost focus and put out a sub-standard product in the iPhone4 and then followed it up with this POS OS4.0

It was bound to happen soon.. the more new products they add to their portfolio, the lass attention each gets.. and its starting to show..

I wana throw my 3G against the wall!!
 
Gosh will you chill out already. At least you have a character counter in SMS app.
 
I'm fairly certain that this has been covered in the past but I cannot find anything on it...

I have a 3GS bought overseas in the box, not activated. In order to install a jailbroken IPSW on it do I just enter DFU in the time honoured manner?

...sorry of this is a dumb question - the non-activated state has thrown me a bit...:o

I don't know if I'm going mad or not.. lol.. This OS4.0 crap is making me all confused.. cant even remember what my phone supposed to do..

I swear that on my phone.. when I went into Photo's, I used to have 2 folders, ''Camera Roll'' and the folder I had synced from the ''My Pictures'' on my PC called ''Profile Pics''..

LOL, now today, I just synced a 3rd folder called ''Wedding Photo's'' but all of a sudden a 4th folder has appeared on my phone called ''Photo Library'' that has all the pics from my synced folders ''Profile Pics'' and ''Wedding Photo's'' together.. so in effect a duplcation of all my photo's

When I go into iTunes and go to Photo's, it only shows the 2 synced folders, ''Profile Pics'' and ''Wedding Photo's''..

Has this ''Photo Library'' always been there and am I losing my marbles? And if it has always been there, why do the ''Camera Roll'' photos also not appear in this Photo Library folder?

"PhotoLibrary" has always been there (even in iOS 3). Now there are just two separate tabs at the bottom for Albums and Events :)
 
os4 does suck a bit, but so did the first version of OS3, was sluggish and battery life was crap.. Apple and 1st releases are always a bit dodgy.

None hey? Whereabouts on the back cover are you referring to? apparently some yellow spots were bits of glue that would dry up after a day or so. but it doesn't sound like your case.
