It is a shame about the FA Cup, but hey, we can concentrate more on the PL and CL now. It would have been nice to win considering who is left in the tournament.

Now the PL is on even ground with the top sides all out.

on a lighter note: Anderson has really got a lot of work to do if he wants to be more consistent. With this being his first season, I guess we can let him off.

on a realism note: I would love some of the drive that Ferguson has. He has been a real inspiration to football lovers, even ABU supporters will have to admit to that.

Ya, it would have been nice. Only two games more and we'd've won it!

Still, now we can focus on the League + CL double which is not too bad ;)

As for the lighter note...I do not like Anderson. I never have. I don't think I ever will.

Nani has managed to improve and show some real promise and cement a fairly regular place now. Anderson has done nothing for me since he came to us. I couldn't believe it when Fergie brought him on in the 2nd half. I'd've preferred to see Fletcher at that point! And that says an awful lot!

hello all..been a while...

nothing much to add but just popping in to say hi.

Anderson is a decent player tho ;) just needs more experience.

Hey man, you have been scarce! How goes it?

Winning games like that against Derby is what it's all about. We played crap, we didn't bury the worst team by far in the Prem by an avalanche of gaols, yet we got three points and now look odds on to win the league. :)

Anderson is still crap.
So is Fletcher (shame :p)

How can Tevez and Nani not even be on the bench in a premier league game, even it is only derby??

Scholes and Giggs need to retire asap. One great performance in 10 does not justify their place in the side, no matter how great they have been for us in the past.

Absolutely spot on. I was appalled that Giggs was still on the field
Nani needs to replace Giggs permanently. Giggs is there based on reputation and is collecting royalty fees. He needs to go. Scholes needs to go as well, though I feel quite sorry for the guy. He's been a real hero for us over the years, but the unfortunate situation is that since returning from injury, he has simply not been the Scholes we used to know.

Yip. They need to bow out with dignity when they are still good- like Cantona and Schmeichel. Not linger on when they clearly can no longer cut it and there are replacements that have been brought in specifically to take their positions sitting on the bench :p

Hopefully this season will be their last. Then we can win the Double and they can both retire as the legends that they are :) (Giggs' goal v the Arse in the FA Cup semi in 1999 is still my favourite goal ever.)

Right there at the top of my list too. :)

Giggs The Legend

There are some real classics out there.

Cantona's chip to make it 5-0 vs Sunderland way back in 1997. After getting the ball on the halfway line and great one-two with Choccy, the greatest chip ever over the stranded goal-keeper and then the nonchalant celebration as if to say "Where you expecting any less?!" Class.:)

That goal was awesome!

I remember a fantastic volley on the edge of the area from rooney off a corner in the FA cup final against arsenal a few years back, that would have been awesome if it went in,think it hit the bar or was saved.

And the time Beckham shot from the halfway mark against Wimbeldon. Fluke, is what a lot said - bullsh1t - pure skill and vision I say.

Ya! Good times!

I wonder anyone else remembers Jordi Cruyff having his only great game for United in the match...Probably forgotten thanks to Mr beckham and the halfway line...:p

I'll say it again- we should always start Tevez and Nani!

We are still carrying Giggs and Scholes. Anderson in the final third is terrible. Rooney is starting to have a poor season which is not great timing.

Otherwise, a great game I thought :)

Complete and utter domination, and for once correctly reflected in the score.

Never mind the justified red card, even when 11 v 11 we were all over them. Torres and Gerrard were nowhere.

And how come nobody noticed how much Liverpool as a team moan and bitch at the referee prior to this game? Even after the red card and yellow for Torres, both for dissent, Carragher shouted at the ref every time anything went against him, and so did Gerrard (what kind of a captain does that??)

Either way, a great weekend, 5 points clear. We can draw both games to Arse and Chelski, although how sweet would it be to thump them like 5-0 , break their unbeaten home run AND win the league all in the same game? :)

Yeah normally a lucky last minute goal wins it out of nowhere

Oh wait I seem to have stumbled into the wrong thead :D

I disagree with you here. Nani still needs time to adapt. When you bring him on later in the game, he has more of an impact.
Tevez -errrrr - nevermind ....

Giggs definately should be benched, his passing is aweful, it is so dissapointing to see him play like this :(.
I agree Anderson starts losing it at around the 60min mark. but in that 60,he is a star. Rooney just cant finish, Everytime he misses, i am reminded about Rossi, what talent we had and we through him away :(

I think Nani has shown the promise that everyone reckons Anderson has shown lately. With Anderson I just can't see it.

I'd play Nani every game from the start simply for his speed down the wings, and ability to actually deliver a good cross or corner -something which almost noone else in the team seems capable of.

Anderson would never start a game if I were manager. Carrick and Hargreaves are far better options.

Just like the subs today, Anderson and Giggs should not start, Nani and Tevez should take their places. Hargreaves can easily start instead of Scholes, leaving a bench of Giggs, Scholes, Anderson, Saha- which is not bad at all :)

Hargreaves can easily start instead of Scholes,

I expected much more out of Hargreaves. For some reason i still feel Scholes is more needed ( although he can be very dissapointing at times) because Hargreaves has no creativity. He is not a play maker ... but i'll give him the benefit right now because he has been injured and needs time to settle.

I agree. For me, even Hargreaves is better than Anderson right now. His tackling and midfield holding play are both great but his final third play just won't cut it.

Anyway, 12 games to the double :)

personally i think scholes out for hargreaves
giggs out for nani

i cannot understand why giggs is preffered to nani, giggs is slow never dribbles anybody and to be honest looks like he should retire or go to a smaller club

when nani starts to play and hit form united will have to of the most devastating wings in world soccer

anderson must stay cause he is really awesome :)

I tend to disagree.

I totally agree, Its like he has been possessed by some 1st division mid. But then again im not totally convinced with Nani starting, he tends to be very wasteful but when he comes on later in the game, he shows his talent.
