Really....where did you conjure up that drivel from? So what you're saying is that the killing of women and children is fine...and if you are "likely" to be a suicide bomber you deserve to be killed. It's that pathetic calibre of thinking that allows wars to be waged on no basis and pure conjecture. Congratulations on joining the herd.

No. I am saying that simply pointing at "women and children" as being automatically innocent is rubbish.
 
New York, 6 January 2009 - Statement by the Secretary-General on strike on UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) School in Gaza

In the last day, three schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) have been hit by nearby Israeli military strikes. A substantial number of civilians have been killed, particularly in the third strike, and many more have been injured. I am awaiting full confirmation of the details of these incidents.

These, and over twenty other schools, are serving as temporary shelters to over 15,000 Palestinians whose homes have been destroyed or who are fleeing the violence. They are seeking sanctuary in UNRWA schools because they have no other place to go and are not able to flee the Gaza Strip.

In another incident, seven UN staff were injured, three seriously, together with three patients, when a strike on a neighbouring building caused substantial collateral damage to an UNRWA health centre.

The locations of all UN facilities have been communicated to the Israeli authorities and are known to the Israeli army. After earlier strikes, the Israeli government was warned that its operations were endangering UN compounds. I am deeply dismayed that despite these repeated efforts, today's tragedies have ensued. These attacks by Israeli military forces which endanger UN facilities acting as places of refuge are totally unacceptable and must not be repeated. Equally unacceptable are any actions by militants which endanger the Palestinian civilian population.

Today's events underscore the dangers inherent in the continuation and escalation of this conflict. I call once again for an immediate ceasefire.

Then that logic applies for any state wherein the women and children support the regime they are under and therefore become fair game during war.......sounds like the thinking of heartless warmongers to me, oh yes..that's what they are.

Well, exactly.

Claiming "women and children" as automatically "innocent" is pure and simple rubbish.
Women fight in armies - women kill, women commit crimes.
And some children do to - how many kids under ten have been found guilty of murder. Children are also used as suicide bombers.

And some MEN *are* innocent.

"Women and children" is an archronism that needs to be removed from our imagination as promoting some sort of automatic "hands-off".

In World War II, strategic aerial bombardment claimed the lives of over 160,000 Allied airmen in the European theatre,[9] 60,595 British civilians and between 305,000 and 600,000 German civilians, [10][11] while American precision bombing, fire bombing and atomic bombing in Japan killed between 330,000 and 500,000 Japanese civilians.

Its totally situational. Take the Hiroshima for instance, read up about it. The city was the production machine for the Japs. Scattered amongst these factories were dozens of schools, churches, hospitals etc etc. America would've lost millions more soldiers if they had decided to proceed into Japan as they had in Iwo Jima. Those women and children weren't wielding guns or bombs, they were at school or shopping, half of them oblivous to what was going on.

Israel has given fair warning. They dropped millions of pamphlets before the operation advising every civilian to GTFO. Its the same rule of thumb today as in WW2, if you remain, then you are a supporter and are free game for any nasty piece of equipment that falls out of the sky onto your head ;)
