The Middle East Conflict Thread

Oooooh, you mean that's what you were trying to say!

... so this is the kind of things you are referring to? or NOT trying to refer to?

Oh, wait sorry... that is an Egyptian Tourism site....

I guess Wikipedia (that hate site) must be making all of this up too...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Egypt

Where does any of this prove that a Jewish state existed more than 2000 years ago? I don't question the existence of Jews.

I was referring to the progress made with the Oslo Accords, unfortunately Rabin was assassinated.

Which prompted Arafat to become a vile corrupt leader.... Israel's fault again surprise, surprise

so Herod the Great was King of...? A few shepherds and camels?

The only record of a state of Israel exicting by the ancient Egyptians is the Merneptah Stele but...

Since the stela includes just one line mentioning Israel, it is difficult for scholars to deduce a substantial amount of information about what "Israel" meant in this stela. The stela does make clear, however, that Israel at this stage, refers to a people since the hieroglyphic determinative for "country" is absent for Israel.

Israel is wasted, its seed is no longer.

While the other defeated Egyptian enemies listed besides Israel in this document such as Ashkelon, Gezer and Yanoam were given the determinative for a city-state—"a throw stick plus three mountains designating a foreign country"—the hieroglyphs which refer to Israel instead employ the determinative sign used for foreign peoples: a throw stick plus a man and a woman over three vertical plural lines. This sign is typically used by the Egyptians to signify nomadic groups or peoples without a fixed city-state, thus implying a seminomadic or rural status for Israel in Merneptah's Year 5.[9] Apart from this, there is little else that can be concluded about Israel at this time.

Roman history and records are one source but some are still questionable.

Edit:
Don't get me wrong though a Jewish state may have existed(giving the benefit of the doubt) but the size of it needs to be proven.

These one-sided comments are old and tired. Bottomline is: Hamas and other anti-Israel activists out there will never fool the Jews. The palestinians and the Jews have the same ancestor, so they are alike in many respects. Tricks that work against the west will never work against the Jews, because the Jews understand those very well. These guys have been firing rockets at Israel with impunity and the so-called innocent civilians are openly supporting them, hiding them and even assisting and celebrating. They even voted Hamas into power - an organization vowing to destroy Israel.

When they shoot rockets it is okay, but when Israel retaliates someone starts the old, tired emotional threads about terrorism. No-one is fooled and this has been the pattern all along: For every palestinian attack on Israel, there is always a retaliation. I think Israel's response is okay.

No act of war is ok. Don’t be foolish now, Palestine is not even a country officially they are occupied by Israel, they live in poverty compared to Israel so how can they be the oppressors people keep blaming Arabic states for having terrorist when it is their only way of fighting back.

They are fighting the same struggle as we did, our freedom fighters were also called terrorists.

Look at a country like Saudi Arabia peaceful beautiful place, this is because they serve the U.S. Only when the U.S decides a country is "evil" popular opinion also sways in that direction.

Riiiight!... [wait... I thought you said there were no sources???]

Proof please? no documentation outside of Judaism at that time has records of such a state existing.

.... Now how about that Hasmonean Kingdom?

Yes Andrew Zondo was a honorable brave freedom fighter. How can anybody fighting under Hamas or Fatah claim to be freedom fighters . Unless of course Freedom means something different to these people. Like the "freedom" Zimbabwe is enjoying after "liberation"

Now now, the palestinian authority is not a state.

Technically they're a bunch of squatters, I'm glad the Israelies are finally taking some concerted action against these terrorists

How could you call an entire nation "a bunch of squatters" have you gone insane?

What Nation?

While UN resolutions have called for the establishment of states in area known as Palestine, only the Israelies have established a multicultural secular democracy.

What do you know about Hamas and Fattah besides what American media has spoon fed you? You are blind if you don’t realise that America & Israel are the same thing.

On your point about Zimbabwe, don’t be ridiculous its more like the freedom in S.A after liberation. Zimbabwe is f****d because Mugabe is a twat, not because the country was freed from racial discrimination you IMPERIALST.

Educate yourself on what has been done to places Like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine and ask yourself what you would do.

Now you are just being an a-hole. Ive said in the previous post that Palestine is not A state but they are a Nation.

Do you not realise that these are people you a talking about, what is wrong with you?

um, actually they are on opposite sides of the planet.... but its OK... we already knew we were not dealing with the smartest cookie in the basket here.

You mean like this :

Suicide bomber hits anti-Israel protest

MOSUL - A suicide bomber on a bicycle in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul targeted a protest condemning Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip, killing one civilian and wounding 16, police said.

"One civilian was killed and 16 were wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up when he rode his bicycle into the middle of an anti-Israeli demonstration in the city," local police Major Wael Rasheed told AFP.

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/12/24/israel.rockets/index.html

Israeli military officials said Hamas militants fired more than 65 rockets into southern Israel on Wednesday -- four days after a cease-fire officially ended.

I hope Israel sen them back into the stone age.

How can you have a cease-fire but you still occupy a country continue to demolish homes and set checkpoints so people cant move around on their own land? WTF, regarding sending Palestinians back to the stone age, Israel already put them there.
