Israeli Soldier, Palestinian Farmer Killed in Gaza Violence

Jan. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Palestinian militants detonated a bomb as an Israeli patrol passed by the Gaza border, killing a soldier, and Israeli tank fire killed an Arab farmer in the worst outbreak of violence since Israel ended its 22-day offensive against Hamas.

Ja, I see Hamas lasted a whole week. All that this proves is that Hamas is not even a credible organization which can control its own fighters. These Hamas members just want blood. They detonated an explosive device near a checkpoint and killed some Israelis. 90 minutes later the Israelis killed someone trying to cross the border illegally.

This vindicates everything we ever said about Hamas in this thread!

Holocaust 'a big lie'

Tehran - Iran's government spokesperson on Tuesday branded the Holocaust a "big lie" created to place the Islamic republic's arch-foe Israel in the Middle East, the state IRNA news agency reported.

"The Holocaust is a concept coming from a big lie in order to settle a rootless regime in the heart of the Islamic world," Gholam Hossein Elham told a conference on Gaza in central Iran's religious city of Qom.

It was not the first time an Iranian official has questioned the massacre of Jews by Nazis in World War II.

Iran does not recognise Israel, and since his election in 2005 President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has attracted international condemnation by repeatedly predicting that the Jewish state is doomed to disappear.

In late 2005 Ahmadinejad branded the Holocaust a "myth". His comment was followed by a conference in Tehran in 2006 that brought together Holocaust deniers and revisionists.

A mass-circulation Iranian newspaper also staged a controversial cartoon competition on the subject.

In September last year a group of Iranian Islamist students unveiled a book mocking the Holocaust and filled with anti-Semitic stereotypes and revisionist arguments.

The United Nations designated January 27 as international Holocaust memorial day in 2005, marking the date Soviet troops liberated the largest Nazi death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, in Poland.

Opening fire at an Israeli helicopter when there are children standing around is at best a hopelessly failed propaganda stunt. At worst, innocent blood on their hands. But Hamas have done their best to prove to the world that innocent blood isn't something they're going to lose any sleep over.

Nah, I'll just tell you that since you supported Israel's attack on the Gazan tunnel, that logic dictates you should also support attempts by Gaza to end the unjustified blockade that they are subjected to, especially when those attempts target military personnel.

Maybe you'd be kind enough to point out any news articles that actually state that Hamas or even people affiliated with Hamas were in any way involved in the act.

Oh, that's right, there's no evidence to suggest Hamas is in any way involved. Fail.
 
Is this still going on?

I would have thought between this post of mine and the last one that these 2 people would've gotten bored and found other stuff to do... clearly NOT!

So Hamas has lost the ability to control the militants in the Gaza Strip? Good enough reason to invade and restore order. Thanks for providing the motivation.

By that standard, Palestinians should be perfectly justified in holding the whole of the Israeli government responsible every single time on of their settlers attacks Palestinians on the West Bank.

It's a little hard to control anyone when Israel went and did Hamas the nice favour of blowing away all the Gazan policemen as part of their opening offensive.

Maybe as your next foot-in-mouth moment, you'd like to suggest blowing the Israeli police force to kingdom come and then denounce Israel for having a high crime rate? :rolleyes:

Why so defensive? A little embarrassed that those guys you were defending turned out to be the bad guys all along? Palestinian militants broke the ceasefire and the facts prove it. Before you go defending their actions just remember than in doing so you justify any unprovoked attacks from Israel.

Please would you refrain from your childish name calling, it is counter productive and detracts from any legitimate argument you may have.

The site is worth a look if you are at all interested in deciding for yourself whether or not mainstream reporting, especially by wire services, on the conflict is distorted.

However, I have seen both the gunboat incidents reported in the local press, in case you missed it.
 
I was surprised to learn that Israel censors military info and even banned international reporters from conflict areas. Here is an underground site called Israeli Uncensored News http://samsonblinded.org/news which runs some very odd reports.
 
Israel committed war crimes a few weeks ago, during the cease-fire they refused to lift the blockade fully which is part of the cease-fire terms and fired on fisherman(injuring a girl)making it clear that the blockade is still in place(technically a breach)

Now a FEW militants target solders and now ALL the Palestinians are the bad guys?

Some peope are idiots.

Lifting the blockade was never part of the cease-fire.

Who said ALL Palestinians are the bad guys:confused:
