I mean I even get iffy when my kids are with my family on their own (i.e. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles etc.), even then I am concerned that they will not keep an eye on them (even though I know they will), let alone let my kids out of my sight..

In my opinion, there were 2 things necessary for this to occur:

1) A rapist had to be on the prowl (no one can predict that).
2) A child needed to be left unattended (this was completely avoidable)

And unfortunately both those things occurred simultaneously.

Okay not sure if the plead part is necessary, and when the bail thing happens. But I thought that was staight away, before anything really starts happening.

No pleading yet but bail is denied. Also gives more time for investigation.

JOHANNESBURG - A 20-year-old man accused of raping a little girl at a restaurant has been denied bail in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday.


The suspect allegedly attacked the seven-year-old inside a toilet cubicle at a Dros franchise on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly stalked the child at the playground and followed her to the ladies’ toilets.

It’s understood he covered her mouth and forced her into the men’s restroom where he attacked her.

He was handcuffed on the scene and appeared in court on Tuesday afternoon where his case has been postponed to 2 October.

He'll face charges of rape, assault, intimidation and possession of drugs.

So looks like DROS official policy was to send the child to the restroom with a child minder.
If that policy above is actually from their restaurant... and was posted before the incident.
 
As a dad of a 4 year old girl this just makes me see red and black when I read this and heard about it. Can't even imagine it.
I blame the South Africans, not the Dros. People said they saw him watching her and sat by the childs play area.

THEN WHY ARE YOU SO SLAPGAT TO NOT STAND UP AND DO OR SAY SOMETHING?!?!

99% of our problems in this country is due to slap gat citizens.

Willing to write a 10000 word letter to Huis Genoot about how pissed they are and and and. But when it comes time to stand up and do something they won't.

That gets the child minder and manager in a lot of trouble if it was there before. It means that rules werent followed.

Also normally its a kids play at their own risk and we dont accept any responsibility for any injuries etc.

This is the reason why you need to make sure that all the fine-print is in place.

Was at a kiddies birthday party at Dros a few weeks ago for my daughters friend turning 3. There was nothing like this in place at all. VERY few places that actually implement it. Have seen Spur do it once, and never again
 

Listening to this guy, I assume the victim, family and most of the mob were non-white., hence the Twittards pulling their ace card.
 
I hope people are sure that they have the right guy. Basing this off some idiot on Twitter is not a very wise move.
Anybody could upload a pic of their friend to play a prank on them.
