I'm sorry but I don't agree. We don't have to agree either way :p

My child's safety is my responsibility, not that of a restaurant or a waiter. I do appreciate that they do try, but in the end it's 100% my responsibility.

Edit: Expecting a waiter/waitress who makes money from tips watch your kids 100% of the time is nothing but retarded.

So the Dross failed their own rules. The parents was lax and failed their responsibilities towards their child and a sicko jumped on this failed responsibilities to attack and rape a child.
Looks to me this rapist was targeting this restaurant for a while. The never picked this up?

so you can drop your kid off there , order a drink and sit doing your own thing for few hours

its not a play gym place . its a resturant where the main service is food

Just a small point since you keep banging this drum, the restaurant is NOT liable.. them having a playroom does NOT equate to child care facilities or have the same legal obligations that operating a child care facility does.

The responsibility for the child begins and ends with the parents... full stop, end of story, finish and klaar.

You can hope and pray Dros would be liable till you are pink and purple, but they aren't and won't be.

^ This! I have 8 yr old twin boys. I know they are capable of peeing on their own, but if we are out in public, then I go with them. And they will come to call me to go with.

Yip, you can't plan for someone being opportunistic and planning a move for what must have been months in advance.

A predator is exactly that, he waited for a chance and took it. 99% of the time there is not going to be someone like this waiting and watching. Most of the time the kids play and everything is fine.
How often do kids get snatched at one of these play area type places... basically never... considering the amount of people who make use of them every day.

You can't account for the guy who is going to walk in to a place full of people and start shooting.

I am not going to cherry pick quotes out of this as I think you should sit down and read it properly. It may take a little while but it talks to the heart of this issue.

This is the main reason why Dros is referring everything to the head office and why none of the staff wants to really talk about it or make any statements. This is a common tell-tale sign that they are prepping to cover their bases from trying to prevent from being sued by the parents for their negligence. If they were soo confident that it wasnt their mistake, then they would have been more open to discussing this.

It's interesting that growing up in the 1970's my parents took me to many restaurants, and there were no kids play areas in those days. We just had to sit still and eat our food.

You are making monumental guesses which have zero basis in reality. Period. Outside of markers from his life in general, there was no way to tell he would do this purely from him being a regular in the place.

Sure obviously you are an exspert so my opinion can be dismissed. There are no evidence or prove that rapists and sicko's plan their attacks on victims in advance and never stalk possible opportunities at specific venues or places and wait for their chance. In the sicko's mind it's just a spur of the moment thing. LOL.
