The obligatory PC vs. XBOX thread...

pc for me. never bothered too much about frame-rates and uber graphics. so long as the game is good, its good - no matter what it looks like. i am very anti-xbox though and for the simple reason that MS is trying to convert everyone to their Live service. bunch of crap.

there is only one game i would have bought a console for (pes series) and since all the pes's are on the pc, i dont need that any more. plus i prefer the ps style gamepad and my brother prefers the xbox pad so we have the best of both worlds.

live and let live afaic, no need to bash eveyone else coz you think your toy is better. for me, the pc is king and for others itll be an xbox/ps3.

and to finish off, the past tense of lan is lend - and you dont wanna go there :P

In 4-5months time... it will be on pc.. like gears of war, gta 4 etc.

By that time, all Xbox users have finished the game, posted spoilers and ruined it for you PC guys...

And besides, by the time we have all finished Fable 2 on the Xbox, you PC guys will be posting movies showing off your GTA4 stunts... Been there done that.

The problem with Xbox is its simply not as dynamic and customizable as a PC.
You can't get mods for games, updates, fixes and such...Or can you ?

When you play online your totally restricted to those games,I mean I can easily alt tab and check a website, chat online and even use Voice coms to communicate with my teamates...Or can you do that too ?

How do you communicate with players online with a Gamepad ? Can you easily switch from one game to another by alt tabbing ? Are there Chat services provided to organise events or keep in touch with friends ?

I Know that's not what the XBox was Designed to do, so regardless of performance and Graphics with regards to games, simply put I personally need all these services to complete my gaming experience.

you should read up on what the Xbox actually provides ....... you've obviously been in a non-info bunker or something :p

I have been a PC gamer since I was a laaitjie, earlier this year got myself a 360 (thought it would be cheaper than upgrading). I was wrong by the time I was happy with my console setup I could have purchased a whole new PC. I must say it is nice to buy a game and not have to worry about system requirements or any technical problems, just pop in the disc and play, also a lot more sociable. However I still tend to lean towards the PC for gaming for some reason, probably because strategy games suck without a mouse but ya..

I can just as easily spout arguments like "The PC can't make you bacon and eggs for breakfast!" in your direction. The XBOX was designed as a gaming console with media centre capabilities. What it was designed for, it does well. It plays games without a hitch. It plays music coupled with some beautiful visualizations. It plays just about any form of video you can throw at it. It upscales normal DVDs to HD so you can enjoy your back catalogue of DVD movies in "next-gen". You can even rip music from CDs onto its harddrive!

MS even went the extra mile and built a solid multiplayer platform that does some pretty accurate skills-matching in most games to ensure that you have an enjoyable online experience and don't get pwned all the time by ub3r-l337zor gamers sitting at home all day practicing their shoot-a-hair-with-pinpoint-accuracy-from-5km-away precision. You can even download casual arcade games from this service, as well as game demos, trailers and HD movies!

On the point of upgrades/mods/etc - yes, you can download it. If patches/fixes are released for games, it's available on XBL. If new map-packs are released, it's available on XBL. If mods are released for games, it's available on XBL. Even original XBOX games are being released on XBL for your downloading pleasure. You can also chat with your friends via MSN on XBL!

Again, all this is a focus on making the gaming experience more enjoyable and more streamlined. The original intention wasn't for the XBOX to replace your PC for normal, day-to-day activities. It was designed for gaming and media and, gosh darnit, it does it pretty well.

You only get the official mods. The pc player gets the official mods and the user made mods.

The xbox 360 is good at what it does but what it does the pc can do and more. The pc just on occasion needs more care to get to do what it does.

But its down to preference. I like to have only one system that can do it all. But I would prefer all games to be released on all systems if its possible without dumbing down the game. I like to have all gamers enjoy great games whatever system they prefer to do it on.
