...Which is nonsense. Before you could tell by January who the top 2 were and who would be relegated. Now there's a fight at the top (if not not much of a fight), and no one knows the three who will be relegated, most likely breaking through the 42 points record for being relegated. Hell, I remember a couple of years ago Derby got the drop with 11 points. At least now the teams at the bottom are proving themselves capable of taking out better opposition, which means the opposite of what you said - the quality of the entire league has gone up.

I agree. Athough, it baffles me that England doesn't dominate in the Europa League. Surely the likes of Man City and Liverpool are better than Porto / Benfica etc? Although Fulham did make it to the final last season, you expect more from the English sides in that comp.

To be better than the opposition you need to be able to win home and away... doesn't help to go away get thrashed 3-5 goals and come back and try win by 6 goals...

From what i saw, a draw was a fair result.

Arsenal will be gutted, by conceding such a late goal.
 
Sir Trevor Brooking has called for a 'clear understanding' on how swearing is tackled, but insists Kenny Dalglish's weekend outburst did not merit Football Association action.

The issue of foul language in football has been a major talking point in recent weeks since Wayne Rooney was hit with a two-match suspension for swearing into a TV camera during Manchester United's 4-2 win at West Ham United.

Liverpool boss Dalglish appeared to utter a swear word at Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger during Sunday's 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium and there have been accusations of double standards from the FA.

However, Brooking, who is the FA's director of football development, stressed there was a clear distinction between the two incidents involving Rooney and Dalglish.

"It was totally different (from Rooney)," said Brooking of the Dalglish situation. "The reaction straight into the camera (from Rooney) was the difference.
No comparison

"I can understand why the incident at the West Ham match led to action being taken but in this one I don't think there is any comparison.

"Wherever I've been since the West Ham-Manchester United game, I don't think I've met anyone who thought it was anything other than the right decision."

Brooking believes clarification is needed regarding any such incidents in future so there is no room for dispute.

He said: "What we have to do is get all stakeholders - the Premier League, Football League, PFA [Professional Footballers' Association] and LMA [League Managers' Association] - on the same hymn sheet.

"I'd like to feel you can get to a stage where everyone just accepts the decision rather than muddying the waters.

"If anyone is still unsure why the action was taken then we should clarify it so that it's consistent.

"There has to be a clear understanding. Clarification would help us avoid a continued debate."
