I checked your mybb profile and you're from sleepy hollow right? I've done all of those and the piggly wiggly one. I'm back there for xmas time and will be revisiting dusi / piggly wiggly + hilton (if its open). I did ashburton a couple of weeks ago and the mud was really bad(almost slipped a couple of times).

I'm way fitter compared to last year and should be able to PB all of them.

Ashburton is our regular. We skipped that one that you did. It rained heavy the night before so knew it was going to be a mudfest

Hilton is still closed due to tree felling. Piggly Wiggly is nice but I prefer Notty's. SO would rather drive out than do Dusi

I came off my bike in 94.7, some guy road into me. After the medics had checked me out and I had put my bike back together, I got back on and carried on cycling.

Managed just under 4 hours thanks to my GF pushing me up the last few hills not quiet the under 3 I was looking for but I made it. Feeling rather tender today haha.

The dusi stink hey hahaha. I've only done it once with a slow 32 time , just want to hit a sub 30 and never return. I'm surprised at the low turnouts, wasn't dusi the most popular one?

I haven't done notty's yet, perhaps sometime next year. Unfortunately XMAS day + New years day fall on saturdays.

Dude, the pro's only did a 2:13, even if you didn't fall there's no way you'd get under 2...

It was popular cos it was the only one at the time. Now there's a few to choose from and nobody wants to face piles of garbage. Pity because the course itself is quite nice.

Notty's is great. Just a tad further out to drive.

Is it a two lapper?I can't really tell from the course page, and only 30 people attended lol. I love the pies at the shop there.

I found switching my shoes to Gel Nimbus got rid of most of my plantar fasciitis issues.
#PlantarFasciitis
Below things have helped my plantar fasciitis recovery process. PF was diagnosed as a result of side effect of other injury on same ankle. Still recovering from both.

What definitely helped
1. Rolling the arch over frozen water bottle. 3-4 times a day
2. Taping like this overnight (This is NOT kinesiology tape but a rigid one) 1637567846847.png
3. Wearing arch support shoes at home & outside. I work from home.
4. Some of the stretches as mentioned by Bob & Brad on Youtube
5. Flexing toes towards arch.

What made it worse - both these suggestions form about 80% of youtube advise and not only Bob & Brad. I suspect these 2 suggestions didn't work for me as I have original ankle injury that caused PF.
1. Massaging arch as mentioned by Bob & Brad on Youtube :crying:
2. Flexing toes away from arch as mentioned by Bob & Brad on Youtube.

*I am aware our body is very complicated to follow YT advise blindly.

You can achieve a better quality run if you start slow and build - even many of the top runners achieve negative splits (second half faster than first) doing this. Actually felt I could go on for a few more.

My first 3k's always suck and then everything clicks into place. It used to be great on my 10k runs. 5k's not so much.

There's no such thing as a 5k run without a warmup - it's effectively a 2-3k run. I prefer a quick 20min cycle or do 6-8k's in total.

I've started sneaking up to 6k's. But the SO watches my strava like a hawk

Well, I am a slow paced jogger. You know those sloth paced people you see on the road, I am one of them. :) Using just stationery bike for now but will amble on the roads sometime this week.

Start with a walk/run/walk/run combo. You will progress quick enough

And if you chuck in a park run every Saturday it quickly becomes addictive
