Gateway Durban?

If you are in the Durban area Poobie Naidoos is where you want to go. I'm 1000km away and actually order my running shoes from them. Not sure if they survived the riots or not, I know their area got hammered.
thanks, will make note of it for next time I am Durban side.

I have never run before (except when I was chased by a knife, well someone holding a knife) and I am tired of @pinball wizard calling me fat.

How do I know what shoes will work for me. The only shoes I find super comfortable and does not hurt my feet are imported K Swiss sneakers. They nice and wide and super soft. Now of course they are not running shoes, specially if you run from nothing.

I don't mind spending 2 or 3 grand for kicks that will do the running for me.

Should I just import K Swiss running shoes?

I need a wider toe box so Salomon's Ultra Pro's have worked great for me. Have a few thousand km's on a couple of pairs, no issues whatsoever. Also consider some of the wider-option Hoka's maybe...

Otherwise if you are in JHB, head to the Sweat Shop., or Run Store in CPT. They'll make you try on a bunch of shoes, run outside the store / on a treadmill, check out your gait and give you a good idea on the brands you should be considering.

These are the rage for "running on a cloud"

Comrades down run record was run in those so you're in good company.
I wonder how they checked them out? They most probably experts in their own feet. My biggest concern is getting tendonitis again cause of overdoing it wearing the wrong shoe.

There's a tribe in Mexico that does Ultras in sandals and then theres the Kenyan/Ethiopian machines that never seem to get injured. Their base was built on barefoot running.

Maybe all the high tech foam shoes are making us "soft" and we're more prone to tendonitis and plantar issues. They're literally causing the problem.

I say run with the cheapies right through to the flagships to improve adaptation.
You'll never get the perfect shoe that ticks every box and guaranteed no injuries.

I see 2 Oceans confirmed for Easter Weekend - mid April 2022.

Seen a dude do some trail runs in what looks like a pair of plakkies with straps. Runs bloody fast too

Oh I always look weird

That was a great time btw!
Thank you, still sore and stiff. The run helped a lot with my asthma today, still struggling slightly and both my emergency inhaler and the maintenance inhaler is empty.

Sub 27 for me. Didn't feel as good as last week's run although it was nice and cool weather
I checked your mybb profile and you're from sleepy hollow right? I've done all of those and the piggly wiggly one. I'm back there for xmas time and will be revisiting dusi / piggly wiggly + hilton (if its open). I did ashburton a couple of weeks ago and the mud was really bad(almost slipped a couple of times).

I'm way fitter compared to last year and should be able to PB all of them.
