The official running thread™

what time do you leave for work?

that's good progress though.

Leave at 06:00, and need like 40minutes for running, at least, then factor time for changing and you're close to an hour. I take about an hour for the morning routine, as below.Hence why.. 04:00.
I take the dogs for a walk in the morning and make breakfast/coffee for me and the wife. Plus, the biggest factor, I know myself. I am just not a get out of bed early for exercise person.

haha, an hour, what kind of woman are you?

im up at 5:30, on the road in about 10 minutes, walk to the corner, start my run, and with in 15 minutes im done, hit a shower, dressed, leave the house around 6:15

though in fairness you walk the dogs in the morning, none of them able to jog at a decent pace?

I actually found that I feel much better throughout the day if I have a run in the morning. I only feel the stiffness a day or two later, but only if I really push the speed and distance.
Agreed, more energised during the day.

Pace isn't the problem. It's the manners... :) They chase after everything and they'll stop mid stride to take a pee or a dump.

2km @ 11.40 - tomorrow is a rest day then Sat hopefully weather is right for a park run.

Im doing the 10KM on Sunday. The race is nice and flat, so Im hoping to do it in under 60 minutes.

1 more week to go, then I'm a month of running and hopefully the end of my shin splints. Will take it easier next time.

nice, hopefully it goes well for you, the traffic is always chaos there, not sure why the organisers do it there that is like the main road in and out of anywhere around there.

rest day, hopefully can smash 30 mins or less at park run tomorrow. I have also come up with a new route of 3.5km that takes me a bit further from home (i.e not so much double backing) so that i cant be lazy and just cut it short.

Hope to run the first 2km for now, then maybe walk 2 small sections with running in between, will see how it goes on Monday.

Going to do my 1st parkrun in a year tomorrow... It's painful that they start at 9am in the UK!

I have been jogging around the neighbourhood so i shouldn't die completely :p

so with all the rains yesterday and last night we decided to skip the park run again due to mud. did my new 3.5km course instead, man was it hard, didnt even make it to the 2km mark without walking.

3.5km @ 24m

Can you add a poll to see what people's fav distance is? <5, 10, 20, 40, >40 ?

sure why not, i am not sure it will be of particular relevance to many but interesting none the less.

what are the official distances? 2km, 5km, 10km, 21km, 42km? or are we saying just casual round numbers?

Some serious runners here . Well done guys, I hope to be able to do those times one day.
