The official running thread™

I fell while doing a sprint. Both knees got scuffed badly, my right knee seems a bit swollen and my hand has some serious friction burn where I met the asphalt. Bad decisions were made today.

Before I took a tumble I think I was at my fasted pace to date.

Needless to say there's no running session for me today. Hopefully I didn't do any serious damage and can hit the road tomorrow.

After breaking my local parkrun PB a couple of weeks ago (after 8 years), I was within 5 secs of breaking my new PB - except the parkrun time was out 10 secs, so it's now my new PB. (And 24th out of 360 runners, 1st in age category).

So next Sunday.... annual roadside duties to cheer the nutters on

Any MyBBér doing the crazy?

@The_MAC do you think they will check this at MacMac 👀

Have completed trail-running events of distances greater than 15Km or participated and finished a traditional city marathon (21Km).

Definately want to try this one year just going to be difficult to be fit early in August.
This popped up in my IG feed and the format looks very enticing. Would definitely have attempted it if it was closer to KZN.

did the 80K once and am not aware of any checking of previous events completed (don't recall having to complete previous events history to enter either). They did do a medical check during registration - basically BP, heart rate and Pulse Ox (some of it probably as part of data gathering for some research project but they said it was compulsory) - reckon if you are not having a heart attack or stroke during registration you'd be good to go.
