our suburb was like people have never seen sun before, whole families walking, even those that clearly haven't climbed off the couch in 20 years. most people with no masks etc. i don't really agree with people needing to wear a mask to go for a jog, but if hoards of people will be out then maybe not the worst idea in the world.

i just jog with my buff so i dont get called out by a karen

Yeah I'm not used to running with so many obstacles .

I run with the buff around my neck and when I go past people I pull it up. I think the rules are to have anything around your mouth/nose even a jersey as Mrs Zuma said.

So far I've managed to run all 4 mornings since level 4 started, just 2 k's per day, and not using a mask as I can't imagine how I would breath if I was running with a mask

I've done 2 runs of 6km each. Legs are stiff so skipped yesterday and today :p

Also didn't use a mask as I can't think how I would be able to breathe through it. Will use my buff from tomorrow as a mask though. Should be easier to breathe through than a mask.

The majority of runners in our neighbourhood wear buffs which they simply pull up when nearing other people in addition to keeping their distance. I'm not a medical professional but that seems like a reasonable compromise so I've opted to do the same. I've tried running with a mask on but found it really tough and it kept fogging up my glasses which was an extra annoyance. I've seen exactly one other person running with a mask (which was hanging around their neck anyway).

Yep I also saw someone with a buff and then remembered I have one xD Will be using it when I go running again tomorrow.

There are a lot of people out and about so it's only fair that everyone wears something to cover their mouth and nose.

I did the Discovery virtual run-5 km yesterday. Today did 7,91km. Did both on the treadmill-I find it hard to let go of my hermit tendencies. Will venture outside from tomorrow onwards. Need the fresh air.

Locked myself out of my house this morning :crying:

Went for a run and I usually carry my keys in my hand but I put them in my pocket while I was adjusting my mask and didn't think to take them out of the pocket again. Got to the end of my run at 8:55 only to find I had no keys. Walked the route again (2.2km round the block route that I ran a few times) but no keys to be found. Was also worried that I might get arrested being out after 9 looking like I was exercising just down the road from a police station

Ended up having to borrow our complex guard's phone to call my dad to drive across town to bring my spare keys. Finally got into my house at like 10...

Not the best morning run I have ever had if I'm honest (not the worst either thankfully)

Nope, I highly doubt they will turn up. Guess I will have to change the locks on my front door at some point.

And thankfully I didn't have my car keys with me. Don't even want to think about how much replacing one of those would cost

Anyone tried running with a face shield. Lol.
Surely it beats a mask/buff even though it'll look daft.

Your lungs will thank you.

I'm still running without a mask every day, I'm 7/7 since last Friday when we were allowed to run again. Not many people on the road today as it was cold and misty at 7am

So today I'm 14/14 since we were allowed to run again, even though it was quite chilly at 7am this morning, and I saw 8 other runners on my 2k trip

Noticed the chill factor yesterday morning for the first time this year. Not nice.

Might get me those compression arm and leg socks.

The cold is starting to creep in, especially before 8am.
Yep, I've chickened out a lot during the week. Weekends is fine because I can go for a run at 8, but during the week I need to be home for a meeting at 8AM every day
