The official running thread™

After having to skip my threshold session on Thursday due to a massive headache and fever and taking an extra day to make sure I"m not getting sick all over again I did my long run today. Felt very good so I turned up the speed at the halfway mark. Garmin is mad at me now, but I have a new 10K PB.

Also had a dog actually lunge at me to attack me when I passed some people who were walking their dogs. Thankfully it was on a lead. It actually jumped at me fully intending to bite while I was passing them on the opposite side and missed me by about 30cm. If they didn't have it on a lead it would've been ugly.

What to do about pain in the lower half of my calves? Just keep going and harden up?
Try deep tissue massage. Hurts like hell but loosens calves up properly. had mine done yesterday and minus the slight pain, they feel softer already.

+ for this. Do you stretch before, during or after running? Never stretch before. Only after a proper 15 min warmup or after. Lastly foam rolling could help. Lastly continue doing calf raises and stretch calf using a towel after every run. Roll/fold the towel and trow it over your toe's. While holding both ends of the towel gently pull back and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat this 3 -4 times after exercise and after a hot bath or shower.

Try a pair and let us know how they turn out.
I would like to, but I'd rather wait for the reddit reviews. I'll try on a pair when next at canal walk to see what my size is in the skechers and then when they next go on sale I'll order a pair.

Thanks

I have one of those vibrating massage gun thingies. Worth using?
