The Official Summer Transfer Mayhem 2009 Thread

That would be a waste of Gio's talent. Then again, I highly doubt he would care... seeing as he isn't playing at all... Though you are right... my point was that two playmakers can't work unless you make a specific arrangement. Hence why I replied that Pirlo/Ka.ka play differently and that Barca is just... different in that regard. However... two playmakers in the same mould (which I would think that Diego&Giovino are) would be too much of a clash.

all depends on what the next Juve Coach does in the end

Crespo and Quaresma to Genoa. Crespo is a free agent while RQ joins on a coownerhsip deal. Genoa will pay Inter €10 million for the 50%. So its RQ last chance in the big leagues if he flops at genoa its really over for him. Good deal for inter, if he succeeds we can get him back if he doesn't at least its a joint problem with genoa and we got €10 million back for him already.

Quaresma has been really pathetic lately, he was so awesome for Porto against Chelsea a few years ago, most people rated him like Ronaldo, now he can't even match a wet fart.

No new Ronaldo/Tevez news...I reckon they are both staying :)

Fergie has said he isn't going to splash the cash. If we win tomorrow, I guess he is right. If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

He struggles in the big leagues. Doesn't seem to be able to handle the pressure. That's why so far he has failed at barca, inter and chelsea.

Yes, but if you don't pay to maintain it, it will break.;)

Juve just signed Diego from Werder Bremen for 20 odd million Euros(might have been pounds but doubt it)

The exact official amount is €24.5 million. There is some rumor that the actual amount is €29.5 million since they had to pay diego and his dad some part of the deal since that was written into his werder contract.

Carlo Ancelotti has put Jermaine Pennant on his hit-list of transfer targets for Chelsea.

Ac Milan boss Ancelotti, Chelsea's manager-in-waiting, is an admirer of Pennant, 26, and wants to bring him in when he gets the nod to take over at Stamford Bridge.

Ancelotti offered Pennant a pre-contract in January to sign for AC Milan but the winger decided to see out his contract at Liverpool by joining Portsmouth on loan

Interesting...I have never much rated Pennant, wherever he has been. (not prison, obviously :p)

Lennon and Walcott are similar players if you ask me...Not sure who is the best out of the three, though :o

Yeah Pennant ain't great. Decent player when he puts his mind to it. Not sure why Ancelotti would want him though . Real Madrid also wanted him IIRC

They do buy some odd players from the EPL, though. Like Woodgate...

Real Madrid haven't had much success with English players. Owen, Beckham( on the pitch) and Woodgate. For some reason English players just can't play well for European clubs.

Beckham played well for Manchester United and Owen played well for Liverpool and they're both European clubs afaik :p

Pennant could have been a real superstar ,as he has all the good qualities to be a top class winger however his only downfall is hid head the boy is just not up to it :( he will play 1 good game and 7 cack ones

Ryan Babel Told He Can Depart Liverpool

According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Liverpool have made it known that Ryan Babel can move on during the close-season.

Apparently, the 30-time capped Netherlands international has been frustrated at his lack of playing time since joining the Reds in 2007.

While the 6ft versatile forward, who can play on the wing or as a striker, started 29 games and made a further 20 substitute appearances in the 2007-08 season, he began only 13 times in the 2008-09 season and came off the bench on 29 occasions.

Wow Liverpool sure has money to pay 60k a week to bench a guy... damn!
