The Official Xiaomi Thread

Here’s my previous posts about it.

Anyone who thinks their bluetooth audio output is a bit on the weedy and quiet side should check in Developer Options if Xiaomi has set the “let’s strangle BT output to sound absolutely crap” option on (aka the “Disable Absolute Volume“ switch in the Networking section). Switch it to off and reboot the phone.

I can’t believe the difference in sound quality on my Mi10T (especially bass and clarity) and volume now after switching the setting off.

Open Settings -> About phone.
Locate MIUI version (probably Build version on other makes) and tap it 7 times to enable Developer options.
Go to Developer options in Settings -> System -> Additional settings -> Developer options
Scroll down to the Networking section.
Once there, disable (toggle off) the “Disable Absolute volume” option.

I can''t find an option for MIUI 12.0.10 for the Redmi 9, I guess that record feature is not available on this phone.
I think the feature was for old Xiaomi devices that shipped with MIUI dialer. newer phones come with google dialer that does not have the record feature

No, I can’t say I’ve ever noticed it. I’m currently listening to music on my Mi10T (via Apple Music) and I’ve received 4 or 5 notifications without any change to to the playback volume.
It happened on my note 8 previously and now also on my note 9 pro
super kak lol
I didnt change anything sound wise either, phone is on silent/vibrate like 99% of the time tried looking but have not found a solution yet. This is normal speaker sound, no headset/bluetooth etc

My record function is on the Google Phone dialer app. But I think Google enables it server side. So even if he has Xiaomi and Google Dialer, perhaps his model is not supported for recording according to Google, even if he has the latest version which I have. I think Google Phone app is the Beta version though. Perhaps that made the difference.

Yeah, looks like we have to wait for it to be rolled out to more devices:

It may well be the Google Phone app version - mine is on v 61.0.356375339.

One thing which I've noticed :

With my Redmi 4A I can double-tap, then slide down to activate the torch/wifi/4G

With the Note 8 I have to unlock first before I can slide down to activate torch/wifi/4G

Is this a security consideration?

I can double tap and slide down without issues on my Note 8. Not sure if it's a setting, but don't recall any change to activate this. Could do it from out the box.

Doesnt happen on my poco, only happens if I have ring on. If on silent not

The issue seems to affect a different mode to the one I was afraid off.
