Pagani Huayra Imola Finally Announced With 827 HP (616 KW), One Coming To South Africa
Around September last year, we got our first glimpse of a new Pagani Huayra model but not much was known other than the name Imola.
Now Pagani China has released some information and official images of the hypercar named after the famous Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari track located in Imola.
It is currently the most hardcore Huayra build and since just five will be built, getting your hands on one will be pretty much impossible. They are all spoken for but you may get lucky when an owner decides to sell.
Under that ridiculously menacing bodywork sits the familiar twin-turbo 6.0-litre V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG specifically for Pagani which pushes out 827 hp (616 kW) and 1,100 Nm of torque. For interest’s sake, that makes it 36 hp (27 kW) and 50 Nm more powerful than the configuration used for the Huayra BC Roadster.

Named after the racetrack on which it was modeled and fine-tuned, the new Pagani Imola is a roadworthy Hypercar with a wholly racing temperament that embodies the maximum expression of Pagani Automobili's track technology.
With a limited edition of only five examples built, the Pagani Imola has gone through the severest on-track validation test ever applied to a Pagani car. In addition to the regular and already scrupulous validation process, in fact, Imola has covered over 16,000 km on the track at racing speed - the equivalent to about three times the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Pagani has revealed the Imola, an ultra-exclusive, limited-run variant of its Huayra hypercar with 816bhp and a price tag of around £5 million.
Named after the historic Italian circuit at which it was developed, and which has previously hosted both the San Marino and Italian Grands Prix, the Imola likely signals the imminent end of Huayra production. It follows the open-top Huayra BC Roadster, which was launched in 2019 as a £2.8m tribute to the firm’s first customer.
The Imola has been fine-tuned on track over the course of 10,000 miles, which Pagani says is “the severest on-track validation test ever applied to a Pagani car”. It remains roadworthy, however, and the company claims the car’s bespoke braking and tyre set-ups will make it “easy to drive, in true Pagani style”.
Just five examples will be built, as was the case with the commemorative Cinque edition of the Huayra’s predecessor, the Zonda. Each is priced at €5m (currently £4.16m) before taxes – nearly double the cost of the BC Roadster. All have sold already.

Horacio Pagani Reveals Cars Destined For The Cancelled Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva Motor Show was cancelled right at the last minute and as you can imagine this caused quite a bit of chaos for manufacturers.
The South-African bound Imola is number 3 of 5 and carries an eye-watering price tag of €5 million. Directly converted to Rands is R93 million (at today’s exchange rate) but with our import taxes and duties, the price to land this car in SA would be in the region of R160 million. The owner will likely register the car elsewhere before bringing it into South Africa to avoid the ludicrous amounts we are charged in SA.

Pagani dropped the top on the sensational Huayra Roadster BC last year and now more than a year later, they are ready to start delivering the first examples of the 40 unit production run.
Pagani made sure the Huayra Roadster BC was put through its paces at the iconic Spa Francorchamps track in Belgium as part of its validation testing. Things went better than expected and the radical performance exceeded expectations allowing the topless hypercar to grab a lap record.

The 12th of November cannot come soon enough as we will then see Pagani reveal a radical new car called the ‘Huayra R’ at the 2020 Autostyle Design Competition.
Horacio revealed in the video below that the project has been in the works since 2019 and that the Huayra R will be powered by a “new aspirated engine” developed specifically for this Huayra variant.
