I'm very happy with the Ti, I'm getting 15FPS more in Borderlands 3 and 20FPS more in Apex, I think the Super would've been exactly the same as my 1070, I'm glad I got a small upgrade but too bad it had to happy 3 weeks before Black Friday.

Not really, only game I've seen so far that has a significant benefit is apex legends & fortnite, the rest is like 0-5% @1440p. Ti is simply not worth the R1k premium.

My first full night of gaming with my new 1660 Ti and I'm very happy, the average temp was 65°C, it went up to 68°C for a couple of seconds and the GPU clock did not drop from 1950MHz.

Which one did you get? I'll have to double check mine as I was playing Gears of War 4 the other day and all the case fans kicked in at 50% to drop the temps down to 45 degrees, CPU was hitting 3.9ghz but I never checked GPU.

Well at high settings for a few games it's 5 to 10% difference in performance, the 1660ti would also last marginally longer in the gaming world. The Super is an odd card to be honest, I'm not sure why the memory bandwidh is 14Gbs while the Ti is 12Gbs, would've been better if they had the Ti at 14Gbs and the super at 12Gbs.
Granted the margins between the two are very very slim and I'd recommend the Super as well, but some Tis are about R700 more than the cheapest Super and in quite a few cases the Super is touching the price of the cheapest Ti. OEMs I think are confused as I see there are some 1660s that are touching Ti and super pricing.

Interesting...the 3200 16-18-18-38 memory kit I got to 15-17-17-34 on my 6600k/Z170 machine runs at cl 14 on the Ryzen cpu / B450 board I installed yesterday. Pretty sweet.

Going to see if those timings can be adjusted further. The default trfc definitely looks a little high at 460.

Overall, it's been fun switching back to AMD on my main PC so far.

I tried OC'ing my 1600 a while back but mine must be one of the first off the production line because it scales horridly. It needs above 1.42v for 3700MHz but it will do 3625MHz at 1.2v just fine

Not yet used DRAM Calculator because 10+ years with Intel Will check that out now...I only do the main timings normally because that's all I have the patience for. Will be nice to get some help with all the other timings.

Haven't overclocked the CPU - leaving it at default it's getting to its advertised boost frequency at ~1.45 volts (looks scary to me but people say it's normal for Zen 2). Contemplating sticking a little negative offset into the BIOS for some peace of mind.

edit: my 6600k was also not a great overclocker - it got to 4.5Ghz with decent voltage then needed a crap ton to get further.

All you do is punch in your values on the left (how many slots populated, speed, what die the kits use, etc.) and click calculate SAFE and it will spit out recommended values for your setup.

I couldn't get mine to run at 3200MHz, but seeing as Ryzen 1 only supports up to 2666MHz, I was happy to settle with 3066MHz with my Samsung B-die kit. You will need to play around until you find a happy medium. But fiddling and squeezing the extra bit of performance out of the kit is half the fun anyway

I also run a negative offset with great results ITO power usage and temperature, so experiment with that as well.

I knew it was dying because I had to drop the max power draw to 70% otherwise my PC would crash, I think it's the VRM.
