I'm itching to do an upgrade this year, it's been 2 years, but my 5600 and 3070ti are still really capable, I know my sons old 1600AF and 2060 super are now starting to slip in 1080p gaming, but he plays roblox, trailmakers, just cause and such games that aren't really demanding.
Now I want to know if I wait for the 9 series Ryzen or go 7?

Just pop in 5700x3d good for another few years :)

Yeah true, but I would need to upgrade my sons, guess I could pop in my 5600 and swap out the 2060 super for a 4060. Though I would need to replace his B450 it was an entry level in 2020

Problem is, I’ve literally never seen stock of a full size Keychron in South Africa, and if k95 is one of his options, I assume he wants a full size too.

havent used them but worth looking at

Get the V - its the budget range but will be better than the corsair and the steel series

they are gaming companies that make lots of gaming stuff..

Keychron makes keyboards as their main product

Damn you man, now I want to buy that v6...

No need to replace the MB, just drop the 5600 in there.
Yeah will need to do a flash of the bios I guess, it is an Asrock B450, not sure there is a rom that supports both :-)

I still have a 5600x + 3060ti. I'd like to upgrade at some point, but unless I get a 4070super I'd rather wait until the 5xxx series. It's so depressing seeing prices now, knowing I paid the same price for my card during the chip shortage as people are paying for 4070 cards today.

Getting a 5800X3D on the AM4 architecture could be a big upgrade while saving on new Mobo and RAM - AMD is also planning on supporting the AM4 series with more chips I hear.

Yeah the price of the 40 series is scary :-( I mean what I paid for my 3070ti is the same as a 4060ti now like wtf... Yeah I would probably look at the 5700x3d as it's a step up from my 5600

I am also using a 5600 and not overly impressed with the 5700X3D

Best to wait for the 9xxx series and check the budget CPU's think I read somewhere that even the entry levels will have 64MB cache upgrade from the usual 32MB, but still 32MB short of the X3D which average around 96MB. Should still make a huge difference though.

Would it not be cheaper to drop a 5800X3D into your existing motherboard and get a new gpu?

The 5800 will do 1080p 60fps no problem into the forseeable future. Once it gets slow you can do a platform change.
Thats what i did the frames difference wasnt so worth a whole new board and ram

Build this more than a decade ago for a friend of mine who's MIL used it daily.

Time for upgrade, might go Ryzen 3 4300G and also get one for me as I scored a A520 board on Yaga for R500. Still contemplating selling the AM3 or buying a Phenom II X6 for it...

Isn't Yaga for fashion? How did you come to do that?

My Step-Son wants to build himself a system on this board - what CPU will have the best price vs performance ratio, that will fit this board. He does not like AMD.
