A: MyAbandonware is a good choice for games. They're easily one of the safest platforms out there, and arguably the most popular. Just watch out for the sack of cash symbol on game thumbnails. That means the game isn't abandonware anymore. You can also check archive.org if it's not on MyAbandonware.

Lucky for me, I did include an honourable mention to a game that is free on epic games.

You have to be careful. Abandonware is not a legally recognised term. I believe the copyright holder is still EA and origin is their platform to redistribute. They owned bullfrog until merging in 2001. So if EA says it's not free I can guarantee it's not free.

They have deals with games like this where for a week sometimes you can snatch it for free on their DRM and you own it forever. Same with Epic games.

True, it's a grey area and it can change at any time. However, MyAbandonware is constantly updated if a game stops being abandonware they update the game listing with the link to buy it on the appropriate platform.

Epic does have some awesome free games, they keep surprising me. I rarely find the same on Steam. I should look into Steams freebies too.

I still recommend anyone to buy Theme Hospital because I shared it because of the educational value and it's really entertaining.


Eg. Buy Theme Hospital for a kid who wants to become a Dr. It's really insperational.

No not kidding. I played this game as a kid and it was awesome.

You sound like that governor who blames first person shooters games for school shootings. That's just silly.
