I believe strike rate was the issue. Not number of games.
The guy can obviously play. And he is in form.

Did you read the article at all?He was told he would play by smith. Why would malan make the team with that SR over markram,faf or QDK? Rassie has proven himself and bavuma has to play.

Yeah, so he hasn't played for 2.6 years and he hasn't heard from the coach or management in 2.6 years.

Yet he expects to be in the side.

So yeah, he can't take a hint and nor can you I guess...

Two outliners...Go through the english batting lineup and go and have at look at everyone's strikerate and average except malan's. Very similar to markram's numbers. Using england as they are the current nr 1 ranked t20 team.

Never said malan and kohli aren't wordl class. Their averages are the exception their strikerates of 140's is the norm for most of the world class t20 players.

Even an absolute legend of the t20 game Chris Gayle only average 29.
 
I kinda get it with Tahir. A few years ago they would have assumed he'd be finished by now, and so he wouldn’t have featured in the long-term plans to build to this World Cup. But he’s still ripping it up at 42, so he caught some people by surprise. They should have had the decency to at least return his calls.

I can confirm that Smith was a chop even before he started dating Minky,

And yes Tahir should have been in the side for the last 2.6 years.

Well, I am saying based on what I have seen from Malan in ODI’s, and his non-international recordI would play him in T20’s. So my argument is based on potential.

If I based it solely on this record, I would lose badly.

It's happened in other countries.

Australia used to select Brad Hogg just for the T20 World Cup until he was 45. They never used him in any other games.
