We short a couple of world class all rounders.

I think all rounders is what differentiates the top 3 from the rest.

It doesn't always turn out that way in ODIs, especially in crunch matches.

Where we're actually short is all-rounders, something we previously had no shortage of. Parnell and Keshav can hold a bat, but they're batting a position too high...

I don't disagree but judging from the players in contention the options for nr 7 are Parnell/Jansen who are both 8's or pick brevis and play him at 7 and hope he & Aiden can bowl a decent 10 between them.

It's good we're taking a B team to NZ. Will open some doors for those who'll never get to play given our limited test status and it's going to get worse.
There's a T20 tournament every month and it's increasing.

Thats the thing. im sounding like a broken record but Bob Woolmer was right...

A good ODI side has 9 "proper batters" and 7 bowling options. lets be generous and say we need 8 nowadays.

ODI KO games are where you need lower order bats to have temperament.

Edit: and your "part timers" to be gamebreakers/wildcards that can throw a cat among the pidgeons... as much as its a team game, you bowl and bat on your "own" and its your time to shine... so our guys need to stop being scared and just go for it.

They all have sufficient experience at high levels and under pressure, so theres no reason they "cant" do it. capability/talent has never been an issue for us... man for man we can match the best players in the world... its the C word that we always have an issue with...
