@SlinkyMike

Maybe we move the convo to here to stay OT and get the thread going with some sounds again.

And to stay OT, I’ve got tickets and flights booked to Glasgow for this little beauty in June. Every band a favourite of mine from the past and in particular the Rezillos have been getting some good airtime from me this year.

Can't be arsed to check all four pages of the thread if this has been posted already, if it has then fsck you.

That was pretty epic. I'll get some of their stuff onto my phone. It reminds me a bit of Idles who have a similar(ish) set up and sound.

To answer your other question, I've not really moved on from late 70s early 80s stuff, but I tend to like a new band every few years. Green Day were great early doors but I kind of stopped after Dookie. They did sound like Stiff Little Fingers initially but then just got a bit samey and too "MTV" I guess. The Offspring I don't really know except a cover of smash it Up they did which was decent.
But yeah, still listening to a lot of old bands and a few post punk such as Pixies and the Smiths, who I'm not sure if either qualify (especially the Smiths).
Here's the Rezillos. The thrid song in the set at about 6:20 is worth watching if you only catch one. Fantastic energy...

Edit: corrected an autocorrect.

Oh I was really joking about those bands. I'm waaay too snobby to call that punk.

I know Moz is in hot water these days but ffs it's The Smiths. If ever there was a moment to separate the art from the artist then this is it IMO.

That was great! Thanks!

The Skids Into the Valley

Absolute banger. The first band I ever saw live, and I’ll be in Glasgow 2 weeks today to see them with the Sex Pistols, Stranglers, Buzzcocks, Undertones, and the Rezillos. Absolutely gagging for it :p

Speechless with envy. What a lineup

Actually posted Nice 'Sleazy yesterday in the other music thread - not punk!!!!!!

Have also previously posted Born Slippy and one of the Sex Pistols (don't remember which one).

I’m sitting in a pub in central Glasgow listening to drunk people trying karaoke. It’s not good but the beer is cheap. Anyway, a great day at the punk all day festival which finished a couple of hours ago. It was a dream come true seeing the Pistols. They were fantastic but the day goes to the Skids imo. But now I need a lie down, getting too old for this schit :p

Never too old!!!

Glad the show didn't disappoint. Vibe must've been amazing - a day to remember.

Awesome to be with a bunch of punks and happily weather looks good.

Tks for the update.
