The race card thread

A sporting chance ... hahahaha ... let's review the stats of matodors killed by bulls since they started keeping score.

I said `sporting chance', not `fair fight' :). And you are ignoring my point that whites who practice cruelty to bulls are condemned too. No racism here, just universal revulsion at cruelty to animals

You are backing this up with what?

It is so rather ****ing obvious.

A black person would have known about the importance of the slaughter of a bull to welcome Yengeni home after his jail term and would have displayed a bit of cultural sensitivity firstly and had a nice little talk with Mr Yengeni quitely and not blab and run off to the papers at the first opportunity.

So what about hunting then ... 'n boer en sy roer ... is that also cruelty ???.

There is actually a massive black volunteer base at the SPCA as well. A lot of the inspectors I know are black  I suppose compassion is more selective.

I agree with him fully ... it is selective racism ... nobody moans about the Spanish slaugtering and torturing bulls but just let the black man do it and suddenly they are backwards and cavemen.

We live in Africa and not bloody Europe and the bulk of our society still places a premuim on their various cultural traditions which involves the ritual killing of animals ... no different from the stuff they do to them in an abbatoir so that I can do my own cultural ritual of a braaivleis and dop.

Some folks in this country esp the SPCA could do well to remember this little fact.
A simple google search proves you're an ass. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-07/06/content_345915.htm

What do they say about assumption?

Try sacrifice a Lion. Coward, liar, evader, thief and shamed. No inoccent animal's blood is going to wash that off.

hey tibby, whyd ont you just go kick your dog around a bit in the street. it amounts to the same thing you are suggesting.

re: hunting, as the animal isnt in captivity (5000km game fences dont count as captivity) it is legal. lobby to get the law changed if it doesnt please you.

Does that also include hunting ???.

Hunting for sport, as in a trophy is out.
Hunting for the meat is another matter.

I have been hunting twice in my life on Game Farms in the Eastern Cape, mostly for Kudu and a bit of Springbok with my father who goes hunting every year.
Never enjoyed the experience at all.
Shot one Kudu and two Springbok the first time and the second time, actually last year in August, I shot nothing and was actually happy I didn't.
I mostly go along to keep the old man company, but I fail to see his enjoyment for the sport.
He only shoots for the meat and does this exercise once a year to fill his deep-freeze.

In my old man's defence. He seldom misses with his 30.06 and for his age is quite a crack shot. The animals drop immediately and their bellies are cut on the spot and transported back to the farm immediately to be processed.

No members of the Public on the farms. Just bush. :)

Yes it is. And once again, vehemently protested all over the world. But your colours shine through by trying to label the activity of hunting to a single group in a racial sort of manner. How quaint.

Hunting and the wearing of a Leopard skin was great honours in the Zulu hunters tradition. Assume the same of the Xhosa or was that limited to cattle skin?

Um, so you try to back up the charge of racism by introducing the example of Spanish bullfight, which is shown to be a non sequitur.... So you move onto a new topic hoping nobody notices? Probably worked well in the second-form debating club, but maybe not now?

As part of my attempt to understand my FIL better I have read some of his hunting mags (Magnum or S.A Jagter I think) and helped him to load and test bullets for his .303.

Now in the those mags they usually have stories and photos of hunting and I have never seen a "brother" standing over a carcass unless he was a game warden :).

The fact is we don't hunt ... the old govt never trusted us with having guns remember ??? ;).

Lets pick up every time the ANC government plays the race card in the media. In fact for everyone and anyone. From what I have noticed, only racists play the race card. This works both ways. Try find the daftest reasons the race card is played.

I am willing to wager that the folks in the SPCA who made the decision to take action are not black.

I guess tibby.dude takes the cake for playing the race card inside a race card thread

Yes he really needs to be "welcomed" as a convicted criminal. There are certain universal principles that should be upheld in a modern society, including human treatment of animals. Fact is he broke the law of the land, which is, thankfully, secular and non-cultural. As such he should be punished, which may presumably include him going back to jail for some portion of his original sentence as I'm sure committing a crime is regarded as a violation of parole.

No but a distinct lack of cultural sensitivity.

If a part of culture is insensitive to logic, values, compassion, respect and world opinion, then the culture or the part of the culture, deserves to be frowned upon and be rejected as evil. No place to hide if you are wrong.
