The RC Car hobby thread

Oh ja, one more thing. Throw those tamiya connectors away asap. Rather use deans connectors AKA T-connectors. They're made from heat resistant nylon and last forever. Every time I get a new car thats the first thing I change!!

And @Lupus lupus I'm still enjoying both cars I bought from you!!! The little 1:12 truggy is a beast on 3s lipo!! Lol. Haven't even fried the motor yet!! If you find any more cars you wanna sell please let me be the first to know.

Yeah I've seen Youtube vids of the 1:12 on lipos it flies, glad you got that right I've still not found it's original battery.

Nice! Mine also gets pretty hot after about 5 minutes. But I've never had wires melt. You should get the aluminium chassis. It will help with the heat. Or drill some holes in the chassis under the motor to allow some airflow to cool the motor can. Or upgrade to a brushless system.
But ja, these cars aren't really for going super fast unless you want to replace parts every Monday morning after a weekend of bashing. But they're awesome for short courses with some jumps. But I do find that after 5 minutes of bashing I have to let her cool down for 10 to 15 minutes. In a few weeks from now I'm probably gonna upgrade to a brushless system. 1800kv motor.
Where your from?
Also don't waste your time on nimh. Lipo is much better!

I have been looking for an Aluminium chassis but cant find one online. Where did you get yours?

I am a bit new to the hobby so didn't know what the difference was between Nimh/LIPO and Brushed vs Brushless motors. I wish I bought the Bronto Pro instead of the standard one. It comes with brushless and LiPo.

I am based in PTA.

Brushless = Better
Lipo = better

that simple really..

Had a look on their website I cant find the aluminium chassis. I have already upgraded the steering joints to aluminium. Only thing I find is on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Hobbypark-Aluminum-Replacement-Infinity-BRONTOSAURUS/dp/B016TGNEQ0

I am looking to getting this but not sure if this will work for the Bronto (this states Nitro):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Upgrade-Pa...itro-Brontosaurus-Monster-Truck-/361139370632

If this will work any local suppliers of above parts?

Also I am only aware of 2 models of Bronto HSP94211 and HSP94211Pro. Was there an older model?
I have the HSP94211.

BASICALLY... both options should work.. although id go the amazon route as that looks promising to me. my cousins husband had the bronto electric. fully upgrades with a 4.5t brushless.. absolute madness cannot even go forward without a backflip. pretty fun. also you could find some nice wheels on ebay or amazon :unsure:

you could try scotts shipping see his total cost for the chassis??

:mad: Well it seems the hobby shop sold me a racing brushed motor. The thing overheats the whole time and kept on melting the cables. With the Tamiya connector it melted the connector now with the deans it gets so warm it melts the soldering.

I get one battery out of it then something melts off.

It went like a bat out of hell, but R.I.P.

I janked the brushed racing motor out.
I put in a new ESC and brush-less motor. I was at least able to sell the Hobbywing 860 ESC I bought previously.

Another R1800 later :( minus the Hobbywing 860
Will only be able to give it a test on Sunday but I think it should be sorted now

(Will post the model numbers and some pics a bit later...as soon as I can take some)

Here are the pics

Which hobby shop did you buy the motor from? In all honesty most of them don't know what the hell they're talking about and will talk tons of nonsense to get a sale. I sometimes ask really stupid questions to the hobby shop staff because their answers are often very entertaining, but very very WRONG!! Unfortunately, there's very few shops that you can trust.

Whichever is capable of more punishment. Speed isnt the goal...
How old? If they are under 6 get a rock crawler.
The bronto can take some punishment but can get frustrating if it does break :(
