That's the thing that to me is hard rock the metal thread these days are filled with garbage like slipknot trivium those k@k that's just some angry music.

Manowar, judas, tool, a perfect circle, disturbed, system of a down etc is normal rock to me since I can't put it in metal as metal is today.
 
and then someone posts slipknot in the metal thread and people say its not metal.

thing is. music is about so much more than what box it fits in to.
and I apologize for going off about GnR like I did. but I really do hate them.

dude it was the 80's leather was just something people wore.
and look at them in 2007.
dressed in the same fasion just less mullet more skin head.
they have always been about the music.

Guns and Roses? They were pretty much the epitome of rock, by any definition. Here's news: nobody cares what you think is or isn't 'real' rock. Lighten up, and if you don't like a song, don't play it. Most of what you think is real rock is probably metal anyway because rock isn't hard enough for you:

I think so. it is Rock after all.

I am going to say something that will start an argument, but it builds off my previous comments in this thread.

I think Nicleback makes better music than guns and roses.

please note not more talent, just makes better music. Talent Slash is amazing but he is a 10/10 and the rest of the band is a 1/10 (and axel is a 0), where Nickleback are all 1/10 so on Talent GnR still wins, but Nicleback makes better songs because as a unit they work together because there is not one person out shinging the band and one person dragging it down.

same is kind of true for Children of Bodem. Alexi Laiho is AMAZING on guitar but the rest of the band cannot keep up, and then his vocals let him down. balancing them out.

You're telling me, that the keyboardist Janne Wirman, can't keep up with Alexi? Let's be honest, he's just as good :P

Hi guys... Anybody here listens to The Temper Trap? Really liked their single Sweet Disposition from their debut and want to get the album, but just wanted to know if the entire thing is as good as the single.
