Yes, but ANC ideology has gotten rid of all the institutional knowledge (white people who built it and were never given the chance to pass on the knowledge through apprenticeships) at Eskom which is why things are breaking now.

Lets pretend you're the CEO. How will you fix it?

Fixing breakdowns in stations is a regular and ongoing responsibility of Eskom, not a long term "strategy".

Fair enough. But since the breakdown and planned maintenance problem hasn't resolved after many years and multiple CEOs, why can't we shift to a strategy that has a chance of working? A solution outside Eskom?

No it's not about shifting strategy...you can do that (that's actually long term) while at the same time not abandoning the day to day responsibilities. You can't leave stations in a state of breakdown and wait 5 or 10 years for the new strategy to be operational.

But the stations haven't been fixed under different boards and multiple CEOs. It's almost as if there's some systemic problem that prevents them from being successfully repaired...something that none of Hadebe, Mabuza, or de Ruyter could sort out.
