You know it's becoming a cult when the party wades into something tat has nothing to do with the party, this is Mashaba's baby.

Malada broke this? Isn't he Mpho's husband who's an ASA member? Damn.

But it's really kinda sad and a tad egotistical, to pay someone to do a biography about you and then act like you had nothing to do with it as if the oke just decided to do it cuz "you're so great"...

You put it more succinctly, Champ:
Yes, the the latter, it's scandalous, it's like asking someone to write a favorable review about you, paying them while pretending like you had nothing to do with it.

It's a very desperate move and it makes even Mashele look bad. There's nothing wrong about, get the author, pay them to write a book about it but don't pretend like it's am independent by the author.

Any evidence other than a random tweet saying that they are "apparently" gangsters?
They could be gangsters but it's very disingenuous to say he is hanging out with gangsters, it could have been a random guys asking for a photo opportunity at a bar or something. You don't ask people what they do for a living before taking a pic.

Pretoria mayor was on Jacaranda this morning and he promised to fix it. But it would cost billions to upgrade the sewage treatment plant and the city doesn't have the money.
So it is river water then? Or are they drinking sewage water?

They don't know the real cause.

The taps tested clean.

I would think it is water from a natural source were the shack dwellers shít in their drinking water.

Yeah, so I'm not sure why they are going on about a sewerage plant as that doesn't have anything to do with drinking water. All it does is send safe grey water into the river.

It's either they don't know what they are doing, or the cholera has a way of hiding when it's being tested, there's no way the tap water is clean, if it is what are the water tankers doing there? The very reason there are water tankers is because the tap water is dodgy.

This is not a recent thing, there has been plenlt contradicting reports about the tap water, the city would test it and say it's fine and some other entity would test it and say it's not good for human consumption.

The easiest solution for now would be to forget about the tap water, Hammanskraal is not too far from other settlements in the region that are not having water issues, get a temporary pipeline from there and bring it to Hammanskraal, it would be at a central point obviously, for cost related issues, then all the tankers should get water from there and distribute it.

I am also suspecting that there isn't enough quality control on the water tankers themselves and the City should get a handle on that, because they could also be getting contaminated water themselves.

The sewerage plant is broken and contaminating drinking water and rivers. I don't know where you get the part about safe grey water going into the river?

How does it contaminate drinking water? A sewerage treatment plant's job is to convert black water into grey water and discharge it into the river.

Like I've asked many times, don't all you okes up there get your drinking water from Rand Water? So people in Benoni drink the same water as Hammanskraal or Soweto or Sandton all from the Vaal Dam?

Yes. Unless Hammanskraal get theirs from the north somewhere.
We have had some tummy issues with the watershedding we get these days.
