This story is silly and I don't like Herman but his wierd overly expensive vanity project is not proof of corruption. C'mon.

The DA guys are falling for silly ANC talking points this ridiculous smear campaign. ActionSA is not your enemy.
If he can hide **** like this, what else can he not hide? That's the problem.

Beaumont's rushing to defend him, now brought the whole party under fire.

This idea has fsck all to do with investors, and everything to do with ANC members being able to enjoy the high life at ratepayers expense basically, while the city falls the fsck apart around us.

Paywalled, but the headline is enough

Bullshit about investors, they unironically want a party lounge for the cadres... Unbelievable.

480k per month
5.7mil a year

Was thinking the same thing. You okes in ETH got it rough.

But then again it's typical ANC... Rather create a party lounge worth millions, than spend that millions on service delivery, those still affected by last year's floods...

Yup, and R5.7m a year would be enough to make a meaningful difference to something like the Umbilo sewerage plant which is currently functioning at 50% at best.

Fscking parasites.

It's not daily for a year (not that I condone it as it'll likely be abused)
The eThekwini metro officials have proposed to hire the state-of-the-art Pencil Club venue at the cost of up to R16 000 for a day, excluding refreshments, on an ad-hoc basis for "strategic meetings".

The point is ANC ETH would rather blow (potentially) millions on a party lounge instead of using that money to fix many of ETH's problems.

adhoc basis? Yeah, that will be daily without a doubt, once they realise they enjoy the whipskey and cigars on city tab.
