It's true. WC, KZN and GP are the three provinces that dictate the tone for national elections because of their economic stature and population size (the three biggest provinces in population size and of course, voter base).

In 2019, ANC got 50.1% in GP, 55% in KZN and 28% in WC.

If they fall below 40% in KZN and GP, and sub-20% in WC... They definitely won't break 45%.

My only query in that polling would be the EFF support... I'm not entirely sure its tracking with current by-election results that much.
 
Interesting article on BizNews of Cyril, like Zuma, abusing the judicial process. I, for one, did not know he had withdrawn his application to the Constitutional Court.

He revoked the court application altogether and brought a legitimate yet fraudulent and deceitful close to the review – in a clear instance of weaponising the judiciary: former President Zuma par excellence.

Parliament then had to vote over the adoption of the report – primarily whether to pursue the investigation or set it aside. There were 241 MPs who voted against the adoption. Only four members from the ANC voted in favour, and two abstained. The infamous video of an MP accounting for her vote by claiming “party line” and the subsequent ostracising of high-ranking ANC officials who voted in favour of investigating followed.

Members exercising the ‘anti-party’ line conduct were pilloried by the ANC. However, the official message from then ANC Treasurer General Paul Mashatile was that voting against the adoption of the investigation in Parliament was inconsequential as the case was being escalated to the ConCourt, as the topmost, final authority. This was disingenuous and fraudulent, as the President withdrew the case, despite it being cited by the ANC as the reason for quashing parliamentary investigations.

It was reported a few weeks ago.
The challenge was ill advised by him. Parliament had let him off the hook so it was really puzzling why he'd then decided to challenge the report in court.

In line with this vision, the DA’s Social Impact Bill seeks to repeal the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act (BBBEE) and references to it in other legislation. Instead, the Bill proposes the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within ancillary Acts.


The BBBEE policy, rooted in the concept of “trickle-down redress,” has proven ineffective in promoting economic inclusion. Currently, it tends to benefit politically connected, already wealthy, or highly educated individuals, excluding the majority of South Africans who were meant to benefit from it.


The Social Impact Bill will eliminate BBBEE considerations and amend the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) to incorporate a company’s contributions towards a range of SDGs, under certain circumstances, thereby giving practical effect to the DA’s Economic Justice Policy. This shift will enhance social and economic development, particularly for vulnerable communities across the country.
