African history must have started at standard 8 then. In standard 7 we only got up to the end of the 2nd Boer War.

African history must have started at standard 8 then. In standard 7 we only got up to the end of the 2nd Boer War.

Apartheid was taught to us in primary school around 93-95. I remember our teachers saying that just a few years ago, they were not allowed to teach it.

African history was ongoing. In standard 7 I remember there was some stuff about the Suez Canal, some of the tinpot dictators etc...

Sheez back in the late 80s and early 90s African history was taught up until the end of primary school, standard 6 and 7 was world history, the world wars, the founding of the league of nations, the united nations and various other 20th century things.
